Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believes that competition in the society gives us opportunity to grow in social life while others think that we should work or cooperte with each other and compete as a team .
There are some games or competitions that we play as an individual and we compete with others . In society , there is more competition which is agood thing, we should know how to work or play as an individual . For example, there are more individual games that are playing all around the world such as badminton, tennis, squash etc .
On the other hand , people believe that we should work or play as a team . It gives us more opportunities to become more successful in society . In addition , team work gives us exposure in respected in field . We are able to work with professional people which gives us more knowledge and great experience .
In my opinion , working or playing as an individual is not a bad thing . It just gives us independence and teaches us how to work as an entrepreneur . While , cooperating with each other and working as a team is a great choice rater than competing with each other. Nevertheless , both of the choices are good , they can lead us to failure or a successful person .
In conclussion , i reckon fhat both of the opportunities are great. However, people who cooperate with eachother seek more knowledge and experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a personal view: individual competition can build independence, while teamwork can provide knowledge and experience. These points are relevant, and the examples of individual sports help illustrate the first view. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The benefits of competition are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the teamwork paragraph does not give a specific example of how cooperation leads to success. Your position also shifts: you call teamwork the better choice, but conclude that both options are good without clearly stating when or why one is preferable. Develop each view with a reason and a concrete example, then maintain a consistent opinion throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs for the two views, a personal opinion and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “In addition” and “Nevertheless” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the move from individual sports to competition “in society” is not fully explained, and the final opinion paragraph combines several points without a clear hierarchy. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the idea that both choices are good rather than resolving the contrast in your position. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, connect examples directly to that claim, and make the conclusion reflect the same position as the body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “team work,” “independence” and “experience.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “entrepreneur” and “professional people.” However, the range is limited and some choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, for example “gives us exposure in respected in field” and “a successful person.” Spelling errors such as “cooperte,” “conclussion” and “eachother” are noticeable, while repeated use of “good,” “great” and “opportunities” limits precision. Aim for accurate collocations and more varied wording, such as describing how teamwork develops communication skills or how competition motivates people to improve.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a relative clause in “games that are playing all around the world.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “Some people believes,” the incomplete or awkward construction “there are more individual games that are playing,” and the sentence fragment beginning “While, cooperating with each other.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in the society” and the comma splice in “In society, there is more competition which is a good thing, we should know…”. Practise accurate clause construction, agreement and punctuation before adding more complex structures.
