Student answer (Band 5.5)
it is widely argued that competition at work, at school it is essentail for children and workers, other beleives that cooperative is more important than competing each other. from my prespective cooperative is positive thing and build healthy realtionship and support each other.
On the one hand, competition is benefical for some cases like it can help students to concentrate in their work. likewise, competition can lead a good results of students as they are challenge thereselfes to do hard work and build higher marks in the whole class room.
in competition students pay more attention to their students as they want to be in first position, therefore also help them to do hardwork.although competition is good thing, it also create jealousy between friends, furthermore they do not have a healthy realtionship.
on the other hand, cooperate with eachother help to build a enoromous realtion between students and workers. nevertherless cooperate with each other in work helps them to complete their work on time and also help them to communicate with each other.
it helps to build a healthy realtionship they do not get jealous with each other and do there work in peacefull environment.
it also helps them to complete there project and to maintain their lifestyle happy. for instance, if students help and cooperate with each other with group study they can complete their work on time and also create a good project which lead them to good marks for each students.
in conclusion, cooperate with each other is way more crucial than the competition with create a jealousy factors

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall preference for cooperation, and you discuss both sides: competition is linked to students’ effort and higher marks, while cooperation is associated with communication, completing work, and avoiding jealousy. These points are relevant, but the discussion is only partly developed. The competition argument focuses almost entirely on students, despite the prompt also mentioning work and daily life, and the cooperation paragraph repeats benefits without explaining them in much depth. The conclusion restates your preference but does not fully summarise the comparison. To strengthen the response, develop one specific example for each view and explain how the benefits or drawbacks apply beyond the classroom. Your position is present, though it could be stated more consistently and precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “On the one hand,” a contrasting paragraph beginning “on the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are repeated—for example, cooperation is said to build healthy relationships and prevent jealousy more than once. Some linking expressions are used mechanically or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas, as in “although competition is good thing” and “therefore also help them.” References such as “they” and “their” can also be unclear. Organise each body paragraph around a main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using fewer but more precise transitions and clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small set of relevant terms, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “jealousy,” “communicate,” and “project,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive, particularly around “healthy relationship,” “help,” and “complete their work.” Several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “essentail,” “benefical,” “enoromous realtion,” and “jealousy factors.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “lead a good results” and “pay more attention to their students” when you appear to mean their studies. Build a wider range of accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. More precise expressions would help you explain the effects of competition and cooperation without repeating the same wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure with “therefore” and a conditional example beginning “if students help and cooperate.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “competition … create jealousy” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “cooperate with eachother help” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb. Articles and sentence boundaries are also often inaccurate, as in “cooperative is positive thing” and “hardwork.although.” Several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and full stops before adding more complex clauses.
