Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear preference for cooperation in “I strongly agree with this view,” and you briefly acknowledge that competition has advantages and drawbacks. However, the response does not meaningfully discuss either view: it gives no reasons, examples, or explanation of the claimed “social and economic benefits.” The second paragraph repeats the topic and says competition has advantages and drawbacks without identifying what they are. The response is also substantially below the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to address all parts of the task. To improve, explain the benefits of competition, explain why cooperation matters, and support your opinion with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic two-paragraph structure, and the opening signals a position with “I strongly agree with this view.” The contrast marker “While” also shows an attempt to connect opposing ideas. However, the paragraphs do not develop a logical progression: the second largely restates the first paragraph’s topic rather than adding a distinct argument. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed together, and the reference to “this view” is not fully clear after the preceding sentence. Use separate paragraphs for the two perspectives and your opinion, with clear topic sentences and linking phrases that show how each point relates to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “intense debate,” and “social and economic benefits.” These choices show awareness of the subject, but the range is narrow and several word forms or combinations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the opening awkward. For example, “few individuales” and “widespreads discussion” are not correct forms, while “intense of debate” is an unnatural phrase. Repetition of “work and school” also limits variety. Aim for accurate collocations and a broader set of terms for the arguments, such as workplace rivalry, teamwork, shared goals, or productivity. Proofread spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

There are attempts at complex sentence structures, particularly the opening sentence beginning “While some people believe,” and the final sentence of the first paragraph communicates your position. However, control is inconsistent. The opening contains a confusing sequence of clauses, and “While some people believe that work and school life believe” repeats the verb in a way that disrupts the sentence. In “it also present certain drawbacks,” the subject–verb agreement is incorrect; the verb should agree with “it.” The response relies on a small number of sentence patterns, so it does not yet show a controlled range. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
