Student answer (Band 5.0)
Competition is seemed as a good factor to be successful at work, school and every regular life by some people. There are anotheer persons who seem another factor to be successful in every sphere of life which is cooperation.
Competition and cooperations both are inevitable part of surviving or being sucessful in every aspects of life. But I think competition is much needed thing to boost our motives and achieve our desired target at work, school and even in everyday life. Competition gives the push to develop oneself to be more productive.
When I was young, I did well in my studies and stood first in my class. Because I had a mentality to hold my first position by competing with other students. If I didn't develop competition mindst in me, I wouldn't get any motivation to prove my credibility and challeneged myself to do better in every examinations. If you think about a race, the partipants competes with one another to secure one place. This is kind of thumbrule, there will be one winner who can defeats others.
Failures are not remenbered but winners are remebered and appreciated in societal aspects. Every person wants to get the winner cup, so that they can be remembered and appreciated forever. To hold the pride, they need to do competition. In job life, competition is very visible to everyone. Every employee wants a desired chair and salary for betterment of life. For the better position respect and salary, they need to compete with other emploees. If you don't compete, you will be thrown from the race and be isolated.
When people can't achieve their desired place in every aspect of life, they lose their meaning of surviving in this racing world. So I think if you don't want to taste existential crisis, you should be a part of competition. This will be the boat for the sailor to reach his goal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your opinion is clear: you argue that competition motivates people to improve and achieve goals, and you support this with examples from school and employment. However, the prompt asks you to discuss both competition and cooperation, and cooperation is only mentioned briefly in the introduction and opening paragraph. Its benefits are not explained or illustrated, so a major part of the task is left largely unaddressed. Several claims about competition, such as “Failures are not remembered but winners are,” are broad and would be more convincing with qualification or evidence. To strengthen the response, explain a genuine benefit of cooperation, compare when each approach is useful, and develop your final position in relation to both views.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to your opinion, personal and workplace examples, and a concluding image. Paragraph breaks help separate these points, and phrases such as “When I was young” signal a shift to an example. However, the overall progression is limited because most body paragraphs repeat the case for competition rather than developing distinct points, while cooperation is not carried through. Linking is sometimes mechanical, with repeated uses of “competition” and “every,” and the connection between the claim about failure and the later discussion of employment is not fully explained. Organise the body around separate arguments, including one about cooperation, and use clearer references and transitions to show how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “motivation,” “productive,” “credibility,” “desired position,” and “existential crisis.” These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond very basic language. However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “competition,” “life,” and “winner,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “every regular life,” “hold my first position,” and “do competition” do not sound natural in context. Spelling errors such as “anotheer,” “sucessful,” and “challenged” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range around both sides of the question, and check spelling and common word partnerships so your meaning is easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer conditional sentences, for example, “If I didn’t develop competition mindset in me, I wouldn’t get any motivation…” This shows some willingness to use more than basic sentence patterns. However, errors are frequent, and complex structures are often not controlled. Examples include “Competition is seemed as a good factor,” “both are inevitable part,” and “the participants competes,” where passive form, articles, and subject–verb agreement are faulty. The sentence beginning “For the better position respect and salary” is also difficult to parse because its grammatical relationships are unclear. Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially agreement, articles, and conditional clauses, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
