Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that for becoming successful person in life competing with others in every aspect of life is crucial thing, while other believes that things can be done in a better way if we take help from others. In my opinion, i think being competitor helps a lot to achieve many rewards in life, but sharing ideas with others is more beneficial solving complex problems.
Many people spend their whole life competing with others, they want to become more successful than others in all areas of life such as in school, job. Eventually, competition boost their confidence and motivate them to become a successful person in life. Moreover, some people compete their learning partner in studies to get highest grades and many compete their colleages at work to get promotion in rank. Furthermore, competition make individuals independent in their early stage of life. For instance, individuals get great marks in their studies by competing the whole class, so they can easily get scholarship from any university.
On the other hand, there are several tasks that cannot be performed sololy the cooperation of other people is necessary in these tasks such as some children are not too good in numeric subjects they require other students help for understanding the question. Furthermore, taking other people advise helps most of the people to solve their issues in a very short time. Moreover, individuals can save their time by cooperating with others somone struck in a complex situation and do not have any idea that how to resolve this problem the help of other people is extremely essential in these type of situations. For example, building a dam need the cooperation of professionals from all engineering fields.
In conclusion, although competing others helps people to attain their goal in life, but on some occasion cooperation is essential to complete the task.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both competition and cooperation and give a position: competition can help people achieve goals, while cooperation is more beneficial for solving complex problems. The examples of students seeking scholarships and engineers building a dam are relevant and help illustrate each view. However, the opinion is not fully consistent: the introduction says competition helps achieve rewards, but also favours sharing ideas, without clearly explaining how you weigh the two. Some points, such as competition making people independent, are asserted rather than developed, and the cooperation paragraph includes several overlapping benefits. Explain the reasoning behind your main claims and make your final preference explicit to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from competition to cooperation is easy to follow, and examples are placed with the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, linking words such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “Moreover” are used repeatedly, making connections feel mechanical rather than precise. The long sentence beginning “somone struck in a complex situation” also makes the relationship between ideas difficult to follow. Use a wider range of linking methods, clarify references, and divide crowded sentences so each paragraph develops a clear sequence of points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “competing,” “cooperation,” “motivate,” “scholarship,” and “complex problems.” These choices allow you to communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts at more specific language such as “promotion in rank.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “life,” and “help,” while several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “compete their learning partner,” “sololy,” “colleages,” and “somone struck.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for workplace advancement, academic achievement, and collaborative problem-solving would make the discussion clearer and more flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “although” and sentences with “if” and “so.” The main meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “other believes” needs a plural subject and matching verb, while “competition boost” and “competition make” require subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence also lacks an article in “becoming successful person,” and the final sentence combines “although” with “but” unnecessarily. Some sentences, especially the one beginning “somone struck in a complex situation,” are difficult to parse. Review agreement and clause boundaries, and aim for accurate complex sentences rather than joining several ideas together.
