Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, competition is now increasing due to increase in development. It is often argued that competition at work, school and in daily life is a great thing. While others believe that we should have to try to cooperate with citizens, rather than taking competition in front of individuals. This essay will articulate the reason of both the perspectives along with my own view in forthcoming paragraph.

To commence with the first view, competition at work, school and in daily life is very essential for individuals. To be more precise, it helps to develop strong mindset among them and to learn numerous things. For instance, one child who is in class 10th and now he is very active in various activities because of getying competition in their school. Consiquently, individuals can become more active in there daily orutine by getting competition against them to improve themselves to achieve there goal.

On the other hand, the other group of netizens think that we should have to cooperate more rather than competing in front of citizens. To elaborate further on this point, we can know about different people by cooperate with them and also can become friends of them. For instance, My neighbour who were use to cope with htere classmates get become friends. As a result, we can socialise with other individuals by cooperating with them.

According to my perception, there should have competition. The main reason is they can able to mitigate there flaws after getting competition.

To recapitulate, there are various types of competition in our life. Though both the point of view have merit. However, I believe that competition is necessary in individuals life to get success.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both competition and cooperation and state a clear preference for competition, particularly in the final paragraph. However, the response only partially develops the task: the benefits of competition are described generally as building a “strong mindset” and helping people improve, while cooperation is mainly linked to making friends. These points need fuller explanation and more convincing examples that show how each approach works at school, at work, or in daily life. Your position is also brief and would be clearer if you explained whether competition should be balanced with cooperation, rather than presenting the two as alternatives. Develop each main idea with a reason and a specific, relevant example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “To recapitulate” helps readers follow the broad structure. However, some links feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, the competition paragraph moves from a child’s school activities to improving daily routines without explaining the connection, while the cooperation example is difficult to follow. References such as “the other group” and “both the point of view” are also unclear. Use simpler, more precise transitions and make each example directly support the point before moving to the next idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “socialise,” and “achieve,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are unnatural, sometimes making meaning harder to understand. Examples include “taking competition in front of individuals,” “get become friends,” and “mitigate there flaws.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “Consiquently,” “getying,” and “orutine,” alongside incorrect forms such as “there” for “their.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than formal-sounding expressions that do not fit the meaning. Learning collocations for discussing benefits, drawbacks, and teamwork would help you express your ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “While others believe…” and “Though both the point of view have merit.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader pause. For example, “we should have to try to cooperate” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “one child … and now he is very active” shifts awkwardly between clause structures. Subject–verb agreement and verb forms are also problematic in “My neighbour who were use to cope” and “both the point of view have merit.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries need attention as well. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their grammar.
