Student answer (Band 5.5)
These days, it is commonly seen that there is a compettion in almost everwhere such as school, work and even in daily life. some people argue that compettion at work, at school and in daily life is a great thing while others refuse it beleving that public should try to coperate more, rather than competing against each other. In this essay , I will elaborate on both sides of the argument and present evidence in support of my stand.
To begin with , one of the main aspect that people often talk about is there should be compettion at work , at school and in daily life in nice thing . This is because it help individual growth in their profession , study and even in daily life. for instace, a student can perform better in the class room where there is high compettion in camparison with the class room where there is no compettion.Furthermore, it should be noted that compettion make individul hardworking and descipline. To illustrate this , people really work to get a government job because this job is challenging.Therfore there shoud be compettion in almost everywhere.
In contrast , there are some citizen who think that individual should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other . This is because creating cooperation among each other develop the feeling of brotherhood. for example, if there is no compettion in work place and study than there is feeling of harmony , everyone is happy and satisfied with their profession.similarly, another thing to consider in this context is more cooperate culture create family bonding in the workplace and everyone support each other during the difficult times.
In my opinion, there should be a compettion in the work place because that make people honest, hard working and desciplined . if people want to grow in there lofe than compettion is key to achieve that goal.
In conclusion, despite of the fact that both competition at office, study and even in our life and cooperate culture in office, work place have some good aspect but form my prospective , competition is necissary in everywhere .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for competition, especially in the final body paragraph. The examples about students performing better and people working hard to obtain government jobs are relevant, so the response is not off-topic. However, the discussion is only partial: the benefits of cooperation are mainly described as harmony and support, without explaining how these outcomes improve work or study. Some claims about competition, such as making people “honest,” are asserted rather than supported, and the conclusion repeats your preference instead of drawing the discussion together. Develop each side with a specific explanation and example, and make your position consistent throughout. The response meets the required length; 29 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often weak, and linking phrases can feel mechanical. For example, “Furthermore” introduces another claim about competition, but the connection to the government-job example is not fully explained. The cooperation paragraph also moves from workplace harmony to “family bonding” without a clear bridge. Repeated references to competition and cooperation make the argument feel circular. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “harmony,” and “challenging.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “one of the main aspect” and “another thing to consider in this context.” However, the range is limited and key words are repeated frequently, particularly “competition” and “work place.” Numerous spelling errors, including “compettion,” “beleving,” “coperate,” and “desciplined,” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Some word combinations are also unnatural, such as “creating cooperation” and “cooperate culture.” Build a more accurate range of collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “where,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty. For example, “it help individual growth” has subject–verb and sentence-pattern problems, while “creating cooperation among each other develop” has agreement and clause-structure errors. Articles, plurals, and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “one of the main aspect” and “there is a competition.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: several sentences begin with lowercase letters, and spaces before commas appear repeatedly. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then proofread for agreement, articles, and punctuation.
