Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most people believe that we should be more competent in every aspect of life , school and workplace. Many people argue that we should be more cooperative rather competing against each other. I strongly believe that competition should be increasingly involve in our lives.

At work sites, either in offices or in some other places, Competition leads toward success. As challenges built strong feelings of competition inside your body that result in more hardworking. Thus hardworking play an important role in professional growth. Moreover, we should also teach students to be more competent in schools. Competition among pupils may help them to pass exams, may build motivation inside them. As a result they may foccus on their study and may get extraordinary marks. Furthermore, we should be in competition in our daily life because everyone is in race with eachother. For example, a person wake up early moring, runs toward market and see their are only few people in quene. On the other hand, a person reachs at market after some Hours and see hundred of people in same line. So, competition is everywhere, many people lefts behind who do not make habit of competency.

Many people also believe that cooperation is crucial rather than standing against each other. I partly believe that if competition result in creating more problems and graduges than it should not be part of our lives. In fact everyone should be more mature to understand defination of competition. In my point of view, competition means that to make progress while considering their own goals in mind rather than hurting others and intrupt them for struggling. Coopertation helps to create peace in society and united us. Through both of these, we may achieve our destinations successfully rather than intruption creatied by competions. For instance, Many employees in small companies cooperate with themselves rather than competion against eachother because as copmpany is small, competition may create conflicts, as a result overall growth may be demolished.

To conclude, i strongly hold opinion, Competition should be part of our daily lives as well as in schools and offices. The reason is that competion create motivation toward the challenges which result in completion of tasks timely. Moreover, Cooperation also very crucial because it united us and reason of peacefull environment for better growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for competition, while also recognising that cooperation can prevent conflict. The workplace and school examples support your view that competition can motivate effort, and the small-company example illustrates why cooperation may be more useful in some settings. However, some points are less fully developed: the market-queue example does not clearly show how competition benefits people, and the claim that those who lack a competitive habit are “left behind” needs explanation. Your position also shifts slightly when you say you “partly believe” cooperation should take priority in some circumstances. Clarify how you balance the two approaches and develop each example so its relevance is unmistakable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting competition, a paragraph discussing cooperation, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with several points joined by repeated transitions rather than developed through clear links. The market example, for instance, moves from waking early to waiting in a queue without making the connection to beneficial competition explicit. Some references are also unclear, as in “Through both of these,” where the reader must infer what “these” means. Use more precise referencing and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “professional growth,” “motivation,” “cooperate,” and “conflicts,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “overall growth” and “united us.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “foccus,” “graduges,” “defination,” “intrupt,” and “competion.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “more competent in every aspect” when you mean competitive, and “competition inside your body.” Aim to distinguish “competitive” from “competent,” check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations such as “foster competition” and “work together.” This would make your argument easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “as a result.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “hardworking play an important role” needs subject–verb agreement, while “a person wake up” and “a person reachs” require corrected verb forms. The sentence beginning “I partly believe that if competition result…” is also difficult to control grammatically. Review agreement and verb endings, and make sure conditional clauses have a clear main clause. More accurate sentence patterns would improve clarity without requiring longer sentences.
