Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that competition in every feild of life is better thing but some have a veiw against it because they give priority to cooperation rather than try to win from each other. This essay will discuss both point of view and I also add my opinion in it.
On one hand, competition has many benefits, it helps to pay more focus and attention to the goals. For instance if a person want to take promotion in his comapany, he will try to hardwork and to make good assignment than others so, he would be able to acheive that position. By winning a competition people can boost their confidence and also become motivated by getting reward. Competition also have some serious drawbacks. It can make a person selfish and bring negativity. For example, if a person take the competition more personal he do not think about other people's feelings, he just want to enjoy that thing on every cost.
On the other hand, cooperating with others is a very good quality as it fosters group work and helps to bring happiness on other people's face. For example, by cooperation there are more chances for a company to develop, due to helping environment. it also have some disadvantages as some people do not do struggle to acheive company's ambition but they got equal reward which is unfair.
In conclusion, from my perspective if a person can balance both cooperation and competition he may get more successful. As over competition and coopertition can be harmful for a person.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear personal view in the conclusion: balancing cooperation and competition is presented as the best approach. The examples about seeking a promotion and companies benefiting from a helpful environment are relevant and help explain your points. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The benefits of competition receive more explanation, while cooperation is mainly linked to group work and happiness, without showing in detail how it improves outcomes. The claim that some people receive equal rewards without contributing is relevant, but its connection to cooperation could be made clearer. To strengthen the response, explain each main idea further and make your position more explicit throughout, not only in the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Examples are generally placed beside the points they support. However, some connections between ideas are abrupt: “Competition also have some serious drawbacks” shifts from benefits to disadvantages without a clear transition, and the cooperation paragraph moves quickly from its benefits to unfair rewards. Some linking phrases, such as “For example” and “also,” are used repeatedly, while the reference in “that thing” is unclear. Use more precise transitions and connect each example explicitly to the point it illustrates.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “motivated,” “selfish,” and “equal reward.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “take promotion” and “helping environment,” but these combinations are not natural in English and sometimes make the meaning less precise. Spelling errors such as “feild,” “veiw,” “comapany,” “acheive,” and “coopertition” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Some wording is also vague or informal, particularly “that thing” and “on every cost.” Build a more reliable range of collocations for work and cooperation, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “if a person can balance both cooperation and competition” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “competition also have” should use a singular verb, and “if a person want” needs subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence joins two complete ideas with a comma, and “it also have some disadvantages” has both capitalization and agreement problems. Try to produce a wider variety of accurately controlled sentence patterns, and check verb forms and sentence boundaries during revision.
