Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many individual think that competition at work, at school and in their daily life or other places is a good thing but others believe that sometimes we should try to cooperate more, rather than the fight or competing against each other. Yes, i hardly agree with this statement because i also think that competition at work, school is a good way specially for students to easily communicate to other communities.
First of all, i discuss that some people think that competion at work, school or other places or in a daily life is a good thing because they believe that its necessary for students to easily focus on their studies and compete with their fellows its a oppurtunity of students to easily communicate with their seniors and to built their confidence. For example, at school, students compete with each other to get higher marks. This encourages them to study work harder and improve their academic performance. Similarly, at work, employees may work more efficiently to achieve promotions.
On the other hand, others believe that we should keep try to cooperate more, rather than to competing against each other because they believe that they are not to able to fight other persons it spreds the bad rumors for the childrens mind and through this they all are fully and mentally disturb. For example, at school, students can help each other understand difficult subjects instead of competing to get the highest marks. As a result, they can learn more effectively and build strong relationships with their classmates.
In conclusion, i agree with this because to take part in a various competition is a good for us to communicate to their elders while, in some places we should try to cooperate rather than fighting because it helps us to stay our relationship and friendship be strong.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both competition and cooperation, and your position is broadly clear: you support competition while recognising that cooperation can protect relationships. The examples of students aiming for higher marks, employees seeking promotion, and classmates helping one another are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The claim that competition helps students “communicate to other communities” is not clearly explained, and the point about cooperation spreading “bad rumors” and disturbing children’s minds is difficult to follow. Your conclusion repeats your view but does not resolve the tension between the two approaches. Explain more precisely when each is beneficial and support that comparison with a clear reason or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages, and the examples generally follow the points they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven because several ideas are joined together without clear links. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from focus on studies to communication with seniors and confidence, without explaining how these points connect. The cooperation paragraph’s reference to rumours is also hard to relate to its main argument. Use one central claim per paragraph, then explain it and give a directly relevant example; vary linking expressions and make references such as “they” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “academic performance,” “promotions,” and “relationships,” which allows you to address both sides of the issue. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Phrases such as “communicate to other communities,” “fight other persons,” and “stay our relationship” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also misspellings such as “competion,” “oppurtunity,” and “spreds.” Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing motivation, teamwork, and social effects, and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural combinations such as “communicate with others” and “maintain strong relationships.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including examples introduced with “For example” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, so readers sometimes have to work to understand the meaning. Examples include “many individual think,” “its necessary,” and “students compete … its a opportunity,” where agreement, sentence boundaries, and article use need attention. The construction “we should keep try to cooperate” also has an incorrect verb pattern, while “rather than to competing” mixes forms. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and parallel verb structures; for example, write “we should keep trying to cooperate rather than compete.” Check punctuation and capitalisation, especially at sentence beginnings and after full stops.
