Student answer (Band 6.0)
During the study and employment everyone want to be best and they compete with their fellows to excel in their field. But some people do not agree with that statement and they think that rather than competing with each others they should cooperate during work. This essay will give feedback on both views.
First of all, having competition in everyday life believed to be a good think. This will help people to do more work that eventually led them to a good position, enhancing their skills. They are recongnized in an international market. These people posses huge dreams and work hard to their extreme limit to conquer them leaving back any kind of bad habbits that will be hurdle in their work. Moreover, competition during school distinguish extra ordionary students from the average ones. More opportunities are given to these students because they deserve it. For example, to get an admission in the Harvard University you should work hard to the extreme level because of thousands students and large competition. If someone do not take it seriously and ignoring competition he will eventually fail.
On the other hand, cooperation with each other during study and work also have positive impact. This thing will increase the overall pogress of the class or comapny during study or employment respectively. There are many people who do a lot of efforts, putting their work on the first priority but cannot get enough result of their efforts. These people are hardworking but cannot get enough reward of efforts. Helping and cooperating rather than competing help them to understand a lot of things that are eventually good for both of them.
In conclusion, competition is good thing to excel in life and reconized globally. While on the other hand cooperation build trust and huminity among people. They should take other people with them during race rather than putting back and crash them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a concluding view: competition can help people excel, while cooperation can build trust and support shared progress. The Harvard admission example makes the competition argument more concrete, and the discussion of hardworking people who benefit from help is relevant to cooperation. However, the two positions are not developed equally: the competition paragraph gives several claimed benefits, whereas the cooperation paragraph explains its effects only generally. Your own opinion is also not fully clear; the conclusion praises both approaches but does not directly say which should be prioritised or how they can be balanced. Develop the cooperation example and state your position more explicitly throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas within the competition paragraph generally progress from personal achievement to school opportunities. This organisation meets the task well, though some linking feels formulaic and the progression is less clear in places. For example, the shift from people working hard to “leaving back” bad habits is difficult to connect to the main point, and “These people” in the cooperation paragraph has an unclear reference. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and make the conclusion follow directly from a clearly stated position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “excel,” “enhancing their skills,” “international market,” and “cooperation,” which allows you to discuss both competition and teamwork. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “putting their work on the first priority.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “a good think,” “recongnized,” “possess huge dreams,” and “crash them” are examples. Some key terms, especially “competition” and “work,” are repeated rather than varied. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “a positive thing,” “gain recognition,” “have ambitious goals,” and “undermine others,” and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional example (“If someone do not take it seriously…”) and clauses explaining results. The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. For instance, “everyone want” needs a singular verb, “having competition … believed” is missing a suitable verb structure, and “cooperation … also have” needs agreement. The conditional sentence also shifts awkwardly between “someone” and “he.” Work on building accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent pronouns when editing.
