Student answer (Band 6.0)
A part of populace believe competition between students, colleagues or in day to day life is benefical while the other part doesnt agree with this sentiement. They believe cooperation is more health and productive instead of competition.
Some people believe, competition is a great tool for productivity and personal growth. They believe people will work harder, student will student more diligiently as the result of which productivity at work will improve and students will progress in their academic careers. In remeber in sixth garde our homerun teacher used to write students name on black board and called them best students of month. So, to get their name written on the board students start submitting their homewok on time, become more disciplined and overall the result of our whole class improve.
But there are many people who are against the competiton and believe cooperation to be more usefull and overall more healthier approach then competition. According to them, feeling of competition can sour relationships and sometimes in extreme can cause people to hate eachother and use any despicable means to win the competition. Also, the urge to win or fear of losing to your fellow student or colleague can result in overthinking, anxiety and can take a tool on mental health. Instead people should cooperate, encourage one another to perform well, reach their potential.
In my opinion, a healthy competition helps and motivate people to give their best. But competition should always be monitor and supervised and we should not let competition to effect our relationship or mental health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: healthy competition can motivate people, provided it is monitored and does not harm relationships or mental health. The classroom example about students submitting homework on time gives relevant support to the benefits of competition. You also explain possible harms, including anxiety and hostility. However, the cooperation side is less fully developed: you recommend that people encourage one another, but do not give a specific example or explain in detail how cooperation improves outcomes. The conclusion restates your position but could draw the two views together more explicitly. More balanced development and explanation of the conditions for healthy competition would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and transitions such as “But” and “In my opinion” signal changes in direction. The classroom anecdote is placed appropriately within the paragraph about competition. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. For example, “According to them” has a broad reference, and the move from the harms of competition to the recommendation to cooperate is abrupt. The opening repeats the contrast between the two positions rather than previewing the essay’s direction. Use clearer referencing and connect each explanation to its consequence more explicitly to make progression more flexible and less dependent on basic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “productivity,” “personal growth,” “overthinking,” and “mental health,” and some choices communicate your ideas effectively. There is also an attempt to use more specific language, such as “despicable means.” However, spelling and word-form errors are noticeable, including “benefical,” “sentiement,” “diligiently,” and “competiton.” Several collocations or forms are inaccurate, such as “more health,” “student will student,” and “take a tool on mental health,” which can make the reader pause. The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but accuracy and natural combinations are not yet consistent. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “take a toll on mental health” and “a healthier approach.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “students who…,” a result clause beginning “as the result of which,” and a conditional structure in “we should not let competition…”. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include missing or incorrect articles in “feeling of competition” and “in sixth garde our…,” subject–verb agreement in “competition… motivate,” and verb-form problems in “students start submitting… become more disciplined.” The final sentence also needs the pattern “let competition affect,” rather than “to effect.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are mostly manageable, but greater control of agreement, articles, and verb patterns would make the complex attempts more reliable.
