Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an undeniable fact that competition between people has became a matter of considerable debate. It is often argued by some people that its a good thing to have competition during education, at working site and in daily routine, whereas other still claim that individuals need to manage all issues with settlement and calmly without any bad thinking and avoid competition among them. This essay will examine both perspectives before presenting a logical opinion.

On the one hand, supporter of the first idea believe that having a competition during study often play major role in extra ordinary results also provide help to get upper post by competing with colleagues, while in everyday activities person need to look others and try to do better from them. For example, in schools teachers and parents often ask their children's and students to perform better against other classmates, try to score goods marks from this particular because they thought if we push them in this way then they make significant change in their learning. Thus, this persepective provide a convincing argument in favour of this position.

On the other hand, advocate of opposing view maintain that there is no need to do that everyone want to live together , show cooperation in every issue share things with other to gain more success rather than pushing them back and try to move in front. For instance, in any company employees should work in good environment like helping other when they stuck in bad situation by doing this they eventually complete any task smoothly, give opportunity to every worker to grow not waste time to suppress them. Consequently, this stand point offer a different interprete of the matter.

As far as my opinion is concerned, I believe that cooperation among people make significant change in society also build trust in people and everyone grow in same pace. For this reason, I am in favour of the second point of view.

To conclude, although people hold different opinions regarding the above mention issue, I favour the second perspective because it appear to be more convincing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for cooperation in the opinion paragraph and conclusion. The examples are relevant: classroom competition may encourage students to improve, while colleagues helping one another can complete tasks more smoothly. This covers the task, but the ideas are not equally developed. The benefits of competition are described generally, and the cooperation paragraph would be stronger if it explained more specifically how shared effort benefits a team or society. Your opinion is clear, though the claim that everyone can “grow in same pace” is not explained or qualified. Develop each main point with a clearer reason and a specific consequence to make the discussion more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples are placed with the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, linking is sometimes formulaic: both discussion paragraphs end with broad statements (“a convincing argument” and “a different interprete”) rather than advancing the reasoning. Some sentences also contain several ideas joined together, making relationships less clear. Use more precise links between claims and explanations, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a deliberate sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “cooperation,” “colleagues,” “significant change,” and “suppress,” and the reader can generally understand your position. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “considerable debate” and “advocate of opposing view.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling problems reduce precision: “working site,” “goods marks,” “extra ordinary,” and “different interprete” are not natural or accurate in context. Repetition of “view,” “people,” and “competition” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy with common academic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “workplace,” “good marks,” “extraordinary results,” and “interpretation.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast structure in the introduction and clauses beginning with “while” and “because.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but control is inconsistent, and complex sentences often contain several errors. Examples include “competition … has became” and “supporter … believe,” where verb forms or agreement are incorrect, as well as “everyone want” and “cooperation … make,” which need subject–verb agreement. Articles and plurals are also unreliable, as in “in same pace” and “their children's and students.” Punctuation and spacing around clauses need attention too. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding further complexity.
