IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given map give us the information about Porth Harbour and changes that took place between 2000 and 2026.

A cursory glance at the map is adequate enough to reveal that the Porth Harbour in 2000 was fairly simple in which public beach and docks comes in north whereas, public beach and lifeboat in south . Passenger ferries in center was a source of attraction . Moreover, marine ,fishing boats and car park is in west . Castle can be seen in south east and showers and toilets in the north west . an another car park is connected to a road in south west .

Further looking at the map, new developments can be seen such as , cafes and shops , hotel , and private beach . In addition, marina and fishing boats are shifted , showers and toilets , lifeboat and passenger ferries remains at its own place .

After analyzing the map , positive developments can be seen in the layout of Porth harbour in 2006 .
