Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the harbour's transformation, including the addition of facilities and changes to the marina and castle. However, there are some inaccuracies in reporting the data; for example, the text states the public beach remained unchanged, while later it claims it turned into a private beach, which is contradictory. Additionally, the description of the 'passengers lerries' (ferries) is slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are consistent and that the overview clearly highlights the most significant trends, such as the shift from a functional harbour to a more commercialized, tourist-oriented destination.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph. While the logical progression is generally clear, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Along with it' is used twice in close proximity). The paragraphing is insufficient; the body of the report should ideally be split into two paragraphs to better group the changes (e.g., one for infrastructure additions and one for functional changes). Referencing is occasionally confusing, particularly when describing the location of the new showers and toilets.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'lerries' instead of 'ferries' and 'till now' which is informal for an academic report. The phrase 'became more modernized' is acceptable, but could be more sophisticated. The student attempts to use descriptive language, but the range is limited, and some collocations are awkward, such as 'at present it observe three'. Expanding the range of synonyms for 'change' and 'development' would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'changes took place' (missing 'that'), 'a marina which replaced by' (passive voice error), and 'a new showers and toilets were constructed' (article/plurality error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct article usage would be beneficial.
