IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The changes made to harbour from the year 2000 till present day had been illustrated by the layout.

Overall, it can is evident that the harbour had undergone several changes. The clear changes is visible to the castle which is transformed into the hotel and various amenities are also introduced.

To begin with, in the South-East direction the main highlight is conversion of castle into the Hotel and there was a public beach which is acquired by hotel and it has became the private beach. A new cafe and various shops are opened just left to the life boat section. Previously, only one shower and toilet area was there. Now there is one more added near the larger car parking area. There is swap in two places namely fishing boats and marina (private yachts). Earlier the marina was next to dockyard which is now relocated next to the car park. Similarly the fishing boats are relocated next to docking yard.

Moreover, in the year 2000, in North direction there was only one docking station and in present year there is one more added. The public beach in the North-East direction is remained untouched.
