Student answer (Band 5.0)
This diagram illustrates the harbor in 2000 and how it is look and also information by selecting and reports that show the feature and comparisons with these days.
In the 2000 port harbor architect there are main road on the west side of port and we can easily entered in the car park and taking some shower and also used toilets after that we can went in the marina which in situated in the north west side of the port. In the front of the marina there are some passenger, dock and public beach. And on the other hand if we inter through the southwest then we can inter in the car park and we can see fishing boards and also we can use the main road and can easily used the lifeboat which is near to the passengers boats and castle.
But if we see it now if we inter through the northwest side then we can see some updates and modifications in the port. Now there are almost three passenger ferries and also fishing boats in this way that is the change with the marina private yachts. On the other hand if we inter through the southwest side then we can see the marina yachts which is links with the main road and also we can see the cafes and shops on the same way and life boat which we can use and on the right side of the pot in the east south we can see the modifications with the hotels.
In my opinions now a days its really amazing and these modifications can help us and also we can use these facilities easily and these beaches shows us a curious views.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes in the harbour, but it fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends. The description is overly focused on a narrative 'tour' of the map (e.g., 'if we enter through the northwest side') rather than an analytical summary of the spatial changes. Several key features, such as the removal of the lifeboat or the addition of the hotel complex, are mentioned but lack clear comparison. The inclusion of personal opinion in the final paragraph is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report, which requires an objective tone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is repetitive and often mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'on the other hand' and 'if we enter'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial layout of the harbour. The transition between the description of the 2000 harbour and the current harbour is abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the overall structure feel disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive words like 'see', 'use', and 'things'. Some word choices are incorrect for the context, such as 'port harbor architect' instead of 'harbour layout' or 'fishing boards' instead of 'fishing boats'. The student struggles to use precise terminology to describe map features, which limits the ability to convey information effectively. Spelling errors, such as 'inter' instead of 'enter', also occur throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'how it is look', 'we can went'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, making them difficult to parse. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are almost always faulty. The control over basic grammar is insufficient to reach a higher band, as errors are present in almost every sentence.
