Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the task. While you identified several key features such as the relocation of the fishing boats and the replacement of the castle with a hotel, the analysis is superficial. The report lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes and fails to provide a cohesive summary. Because the response is under-length and ends abruptly mid-sentence, it does not adequately cover all parts of the task, resulting in a lower band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. The paragraphing is insufficient, and the transition between ideas is disjointed. While you attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Overall' and 'In second picture', the flow is mechanical and sometimes confusing. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending of the text prevents a sense of completion. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear focus and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your observations more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic descriptors. Phrases like 'The one more difference' and 'the place of' are somewhat unnatural. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'evaluation of time' (likely meaning 'passage of time') and 'exchanged thier places'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. You should aim to use more specific terminology related to maps and urban development, such as 'transformed', 'converted', or 'relocated'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the place of Castle', 'beside Lifeboat'), subject-verb agreement ('shops and cafes are developed'), and sentence structure. The response relies on simple sentence patterns, and the attempt at more complex structures is often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the incomplete final sentence further highlights a lack of control over grammatical structure. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex forms.
