The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The plan illustrates , changes that took place in Perth harbour in between 2000 and the present day.
Overall, Perth Harbour underwent significant development, with various new facilities being added and some existing features being modified.
Firstly, In 2000 the western part of the harbour consisted of showers& toilets, car park, as well as marina private yacht. Additionally, northern direction of harbour includes dock, public beach and passengers ferries, while southern and eastern parts have a road leading to lifeboat , castle and public beach.
Today, western direction has been several additions, another showers and toilets were added, while marina private yachts were replaced by fishing boats. Furthermore, cafes and shops were added in the southern part and in eastern direction, castle is removed and replaced by hotel, meanwhile private beach will be only used by the guests staying in the hotel.
As a result, harbour has become more developed and tourist friendly, with the wider of range of facilities than in 2000.
