IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The map compares the harbour information in the current year and year 2000.

In general, there is huge development in the east of the main road. The number of facilities like car parking and shower have increased.

Initially, in the 2000 there was a Castle in the south-east part of the harbour which is now turned into a hotel. Along with it the public beach is now changed to private beach for the hotel. The road ahead of the hotel also have cafes and shops at the present situation. Also, there the count of dock is increased from 1 in 2000 to 2 docks at the date. The shower and toilet areas are also doubled in todays time. It was only 1 shower and toilet area in 2000.

There has been a noticeable interchange between the Fishing boats and Marina(private yachts). The place which was Marina in 2000 is now changed to Fishing boats place and vice versa.The public beach, Lifeboat and main road has been constant since 2000 till today.
