It is clear that the Porth Harbour has changed considerably with the introduction of new added facilities and increase the trade between the other countries. Although added an accommodation facility with the features of Cafes, Hotels and Toilets.

Looking at the maps for more details, we can see that adding of another dock platform for the passenger ferries, it will be helpful for the increase the transportation. Another major change in the port is Castle turned to a hotel with Private beach, and it will be the game changer feature for the tourists and travellers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the harbour changes, such as the addition of the hotel, the new dock, and the relocation of the marina. However, the overview is somewhat weak and lacks a clear summary of the most significant trends. While the response identifies key changes, some descriptions are slightly imprecise, such as referring to the 'Castle turned to a hotel' without noting the removal of the original structure. To reach a higher band, ensure the overview highlights the most striking transformations, such as the shift from a purely industrial/fishing focus to a more tourism-oriented facility, rather than just listing individual additions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Looking at the maps for more details' and 'As well as fishing boat's location was interchanged'. The flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, and the referencing is sometimes unclear. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases that connect ideas more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus rather than just listing features.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural phrasing and word choice errors. For example, 'transportation in sea ways' is not standard English, and 'increase the trade' should be 'increased trade'. The phrase 'super additional feature' is too informal for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology related to maps and urban development, such as 'converted', 'relocated', 'expanded', or 'integrated', and avoid informal or conversational language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The diagram illustrate'), incorrect verb forms ('adding of another dock'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
