The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram illustrates a demographic changes which has taken place in Porth Harbour between the year 2000 and today.
Overall, there has been significant changes had taken place over the years which includes renovation of certain buildings alongside addition of various facilities influencing tourist attraction in this area.
Porth Harbour in the year 2000 had an unused castle alongside a public beach wheares, today it has been replaced by hotel and the public beach with it is now counted as private beach and falls under the hotel premises. The number of basic facilities such as showers and toilets have increased from having one to two. Secondly the dock area has been expanded toe dock increased amount of passenger ferries benefitting the visitors. Thirdly, the are which was previously designated for private yachts in the year 2000 were being swapped with the place allotted for the fishing boats. Lastly, cafes and shops has been established which was non-existent in 2000, thereby attracting lots of customers.
In conclusion, rising population and increased number of tourist has enabled new enterprises to establish alongside the existing ones.
