Student answer (Band 6.0)
The images display the harbour in 2000 and how it looks now. There are some significant changes that have been done after 2000.
It is clear that the showers & toilet and car park which were at north near to the main road are still as it is till today but the showers & toilets towards the south have bee removed and the car park is now connected to the main road. Marina (private yachts) and fishing boats have exchanged their location which with each other in new plan.
Life boats, public beaches, dock and passengers ferries are still at the same place where they use to be in 2000. Cafes and shops have been develped in current plan where this area was vacant in 2000. A hotel has been developed at the place of castle (disused) and the public beach has been converted to private beach just for the hotel guest.
In conclusion, there are some important changes that are done in the new plan for the better use of space and to witness more visitors at the harbour.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the harbour plans well. You successfully identified the key changes, such as the relocation of the marina and fishing boats, the development of cafes and shops, and the conversion of the castle into a hotel. However, the overview is somewhat weak; while you mention 'important changes' in the conclusion, a more effective overview would highlight the most significant transformations (e.g., the shift from a public-focused area to a more commercialized, private-guest-oriented facility) in the introduction or immediately after. The description of the car park connection is accurate, but the report could be more precise in its spatial descriptions to fully capture the layout changes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'It is clear that' and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For instance, the transition between the description of the car park and the marina could be smoother. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes slightly repetitive. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a distinct theme (e.g., infrastructure vs. commercial development) would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the changes, using terms like 'exchanged their location', 'vacant', and 'converted'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'showers & toilet' (should be plural 'toilets') and 'develped' (spelling error). The phrase 'witness more visitors' is slightly unnatural in this context; 'accommodate more visitors' or 'attract more visitors' would be more precise. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and development, such as 'redeveloped', 'transformed', or 'reconfigured'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'which with each other' (redundant 'which'), 'bee removed' (spelling/typo), and 'where this area was vacant' (slightly awkward phrasing). Subject-verb agreement is generally maintained, but there are minor slips throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching the higher bands. Focusing on proofreading for small typos and ensuring consistent verb tense usage (e.g., 'have been developed' vs 'were developed') will help improve your accuracy.
