The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the given task, there are two illustrations given that shows the map of porth harbour in 2000 and in the present. There were some renovations done during this time.

Overall, changes were done to the north, north-west and to the sourthern sides of the harbour. These changes were done to facilitate tourism and to help make the area's infratructure tourist friendly.

First of all, on the northern side a new dock was made to help anchor more passenger ferries. Towards the norther-west the marina for private yachts was replaced by fishing boats, and an additional area for showers and toilets were made beside the car park along the main road.

Along the sourthern side, the fishing boat area was replace by the marina. Moreover, new cafes and shops are lined along the road on the seaside. Also, there is a seperate area for life boats. Addionally, there was a disused castle up-on-the hill, which is renovated and converted to a hotel.
