Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main overall change—the marina and fishing-boat areas switch—and mention the new cafés and shops, the hotel replacing the castle, and the beach becoming private. These are relevant features. However, several locations are misreported or unclear: in 2000 the public beach is at the north-east, not “in the north side”; the fishing boats are south of the marina, not near the road; and the showers and toilets are not simply behind the marina. The response also misses important changes, including the added jetty and the second facilities/car-park area. Your overview is present but its wording makes the main changes difficult to understand. A more accurate, selective comparison of the two plans would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening overview followed by a paragraph about 2000 and one about today. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and some details are difficult to connect because locations and relationships are expressed unclearly. For example, “Fishing boats are on the south side near by the road that goes to Lifeboat” combines several features without clearly showing their positions. Linking words such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” are used, but they do not always clarify the relationship between points. Group features by area or by change, and use precise references such as “in the northern basin” and “south of the road” to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “Marina,” “Fishing boats,” “Lifeboat,” “replaced,” and “same place,” so the reader can identify many of the features being described. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “yatchs,” “abd,” “establiash,” “bahind,” and “fishig”; “are develop” is also an inaccurate form for describing a completed change. Phrases such as “in left side” and “infront of” are imprecise for map descriptions. Build a reliable set of location and change expressions, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms such as “relocated,” “adjacent to,” and “converted into” would help convey comparisons.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response uses some time contrasts between 2000 and today. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “there are so many things are developed” combines two verb structures incorrectly, while “Public beach are located” has a subject–verb agreement error. “Marina … are placed” and “the new Cafes and shops are develop” show similar problems with agreement and verb forms. Tense control also shifts between “are located,” “are locating,” and “are establish.” Practise forming clear present-simple descriptions and past-to-present comparisons, checking each sentence for a complete subject and correctly formed verb.
