To begin with, the parking area for passenger ferries reduced as number of ferries running is only two which was three before. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several important changes, including the relocation of the marina and fishing boats, the replacement of the disused castle by a hotel, and the change to a private beach. However, the overview is unclear: “most of the changes happend in southeast direction” does not capture the broader redevelopment, and the claim that areas were “built recently” is vague. Some details are inaccurate or insufficiently precise. The ferries are not described as a parking area that “reduced”; the map shows a dock with two boats today, but does not state that the number of ferries running fell from three to two. The new showers and toilets are in the south-west, while cafés and shops are beside the lifeboat station along the road. A clearer overview and more accurate location descriptions would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing changes. The sequence of examples is generally understandable, and phrases such as “Overall” and “To begin with” help signal progression. However, the overview is not clearly separated from the detailed account in terms of purpose, and the final sentence merely repeats that changes occurred rather than summarising them. Linking is sometimes mechanical: “Movingfurther” is repeated, while “Whereas” begins a fragment rather than connecting two complete ideas. Grouping related changes—for example, changes to harbour facilities together, followed by changes to the southern shore—would make the progression easier to follow. Clearer referencing and more varied, accurate transitions would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of task-relevant vocabulary, including “relocated,” “dedicated,” “disused,” and “alterations,” which helps communicate the main changes. However, several spelling errors and awkward choices reduce precision: “illustratres,” “comapring,” “happend,” and “altrations” are distracting, while “parking area for passenger ferries” mislabels the dock and boats. Phrases such as “in southeast direction” and “some cafes and shops are built in south side” are also unnatural or imprecise. Aim for accurate map vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “in the south-east,” “the dock accommodates,” and “cafés and shops were added beside the lifeboat station.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, including “whereas” and “as,” so there is some variety. The main changes are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “most of the changes happend in southeast direction” needs an article and a more complete location phrase, while “a new showers and toilets constructed” has problems with number, article use, and the missing passive verb. “Whereas, marina and fishing boats were relocated” is an incomplete sentence, and “an hotel” should be “a hotel.” Tense and sentence construction also need attention when describing changes between 2000 and today. Practise complete comparisons and accurate passive forms, such as “The castle was replaced by a hotel.”
