Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify several important changes, including the relocation of the marina and fishing boats, the addition of cafés and shops, and the replacement of the disused castle with a hotel. You also note that the north-eastern public beach and some harbour facilities remain. This gives a relevant overview of the redevelopment. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the new showers and toilets are not simply “both side” of the entrance, and the dock has an additional jetty and two boats, changes you do not report. The south beach becomes private for the hotel, rather than a new beach being allocated without explanation. Covering these changes more precisely and developing the comparisons consistently would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an opening, a general overview, and a final summary, so there is some paragraph organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the first two paragraphs repeat the idea that facilities have changed, and the final paragraph largely restates this. Connections between details are sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in “both left and right side of entry car parking available but only left side showers and toilets available.” Linking expressions such as “In contrast,” “Meanwhile,” and “In addition” could help organise the changes by location or feature. Grouping the harbour entrance changes together and the southern redevelopment together would also create a clearer sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “Marina (private yachts),” “lifeboat,” “public beach,” and “car parking,” and you attempt to describe change with phrases such as “interchanged” and “removed.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the account harder to understand, for example “anf,” “Paoth,” “horbour,” and “allowcate.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “facilities add” and “build up” for new developments. Use precise verbs such as “relocated,” “added,” “replaced,” and “remained,” and check the spelling of place and facility names. This would make the description more accurate and easier to read.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but control is uneven. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in phrases such as “hotels were build up,” “Today porth horbour have,” and “Public beach, dock area, passenger ferries and lifeboat remains.” Articles and sentence construction also need attention: “addition of some new facilities ober bottom of south area” does not form a clear grammatical clause, while “as compared to year of 2000” is awkwardly structured. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and past-tense forms. For example, “The castle was replaced by a hotel” is a clearer structure for reporting a change.
