Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the broad topic and mention several relevant changes, including the main road remaining in place and the marina and fishing-boat areas exchanging locations. However, the response addresses the map only partially: the overview that the plans are “similar” is not an accurate summary of the substantial changes, and the claim that the water level became lower is unsupported by the plans. Important developments are omitted, including the hotel replacing the castle, the beach becoming private, and the additions to the dock and visitor facilities. The final point about the south-east is unfinished. The response is also 39 words below the required minimum, which limits the detail available. A clearer overview and accurate, selected comparisons are needed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening sentence is followed by an overview and then details about the west and central areas. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, the progression is incomplete, particularly because the final sentence stops at “southerneast part also comparab;e” without explaining the comparison. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear: “while” in the overview does not establish a clear contrast, and “Futhermore” introduces an unfinished point. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the overview and the main changes, and group related features by location or type of change. Clear linking phrases such as “By contrast” and “In addition” would help show how the features relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “main road,” “car parks,” “Fishing boats” and “marina private yachts,” so the reader can recognise several features being discussed. However, the range is limited and some expressions are imprecise or difficult to understand, such as “water level is more” and “replaced each other place.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “simillar,” “westen,” “reamined” and “Futhermore,” which reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, specific phrases for describing map changes, such as “was relocated to,” “remained unchanged” and “was converted into.” Check spelling and use the labels from the plans consistently; this will make your comparisons more precise and easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes a few basic sentence patterns and attempts to connect ideas, for example, “Fishing boats and marina private yachts are replaced each other place nowaday.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The pictures compares”), while “the plans is” also has incorrect agreement. The time phrase “between 2000 and to present day” is not formed correctly, and the present-perfect passive in “are replaced” does not clearly express a change between two dates. Several sentences lack complete or well-formed clauses, especially the final fragment. Practise accurate past-to-present comparisons, agreement, articles and complete sentence construction before attempting more complex linking.
