Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify several important changes, including the conversion of the disused castle into a hotel, the addition of a hotel beach and cafés and shops, and the relocation of the fishing boats and marina. The overview also recognises that the harbour has been developed. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the northern entrance has one dock with an additional jetty and two boats, rather than “two docks,” and the north-west facilities do not simply remain unchanged, as another showers-and-toilets block and car park have been added in the south-west. The comparison of the car-park access is also difficult to verify from the plan. A more precise overview and fuller reporting of the main changes would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing specific locations. This helps the reader follow the comparison, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression within the detail paragraph is uneven: the account moves between the north-west, north-east, south-east, and road area without a consistent spatial order. Some links are also unclear, particularly “Nevertheless” and “where as,” and the final sentence repeats the marina/fishing-boat change already mentioned. Grouping changes by area or by what was replaced and added, and using clearer references, would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “north-west corner,” “public beach,” “car park,” “converted into,” and “constructed,” so the reader can identify many of the features being compared. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “yachats,” “castel,” “esstabilsh,” and “lift side.” Some phrases are also imprecise: “two docks” does not accurately describe the additional jetty, while “remain stable” is less natural for describing unchanged facilities. Aim for accurate, conventional terms for map changes and check spelling carefully; this will make your descriptions clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including contrasts with “However” and “whereas,” and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation occur throughout. For example, “The map illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the public beach … remain same” needs a correctly formed verb and article. The sentence “the Marina private yachats of have been removed” is difficult to parse, and “now it onto. south side” is incomplete. There is also inconsistent spacing around punctuation. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past and present forms consistently when comparing the two plans.
