Student answer (Band 5.0)

Workers should want longer weekend and working week should be shorter. I am completely agree with this statement due to reduce stress during work and provides help to make a profitable company.

To begin with, the working week should be shorter because workers have a lot of stress while working in longer weekend. But, in short weekend employers do not have any kind of stress. Also they will very happy during the work and provide their best for company. For instance, if any perosn have long weekeend then it has bad impact on company because while working the worker have many kinds of stress that he will not able to provide his best and then after this the profit of company willl be drop down.

Secondly, the employers gets a longer weekend that have provide positive impact on company shares. From longer weekend everyone will enjoy with their families and give more time to their families. That have be a positive impact on industry. Another significant factor is , workers will be get a strees less mind after when they will come back their work along with a profitable mind. This common factor have a lot of positive consequances for industry and employers. It results in to take a good profit for industry and make thier share upto around 80 per cent from if they already have 60 per cent.

I firmly beleive that to encourage the workers by providing a longer weekend and short working week to increase the profit and make a good personality among other companies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the opening and conclusion: you support a shorter working week and longer weekends, and you give reasons related to stress, family time, and company performance. However, the response only partially develops these points. The claim that shorter weeks improve company profits is repeated, but the explanation is difficult to follow and the example about shares rising from 60 to 80 per cent is unsupported and not clearly connected to the proposed change. There is also confusion between “longer weekend” and “longer week” in the first body paragraph, which weakens the argument. To strengthen the response, explain how reduced working hours could improve productivity and support each main point with a clear, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning “To begin with” and “Secondly,” and a concluding statement. These markers help readers identify the main sections. However, progression within the paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph shifts between stress during a long week, a “short weekend,” and company profit without clearly linking the ideas. References such as “That have be a positive impact” and “This common factor” do not make their meaning clear, while “Also,” “Another significant factor,” and repeated references to company benefits create a somewhat mechanical flow. Organise each paragraph around one reason, then explain the cause-and-effect link before giving an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “stress,” “families,” “profit,” and “industry,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “significant factor” and “positive consequences.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “longer weekend” is confused with “long weekeend,” “company shares” does not clearly express the intended benefit, and “a profitable mind” is not a natural phrase in this context. Spelling errors such as “perosn,” “strees,” “consequances,” and “beleive” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling; for instance, explain that workers may return “more rested and productive.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if any person have long weekeend,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. Examples include “I am completely agree,” “the employers gets,” and “workers will be get,” which show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Other sentences, such as “That have be a positive impact on industry,” are difficult to interpret because the verb structure is incomplete. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention, as in “a strees less mind” and the comma spacing in “factor is ,”. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then connect them with clauses using patterns such as “If workers have more time to rest, they may return to work more focused.”
