Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes i totally agreed with this statement that workers should have longers weekends and shorter working days , because people have freedom to enjoy their lives peacefully and happily, They have their own familes and lives and also god give us freedom to enjoy , so the companies, factories , and offices should have to promote this thing , and this is a government responsibility to make some rules like that , so people should enjoy their lives as they want to be , There us no bigger happiness for their families than this beacause they will enjoy thier weekends with thier loved ones , also government should increase weekend days for students in school so they will freely enjoy their weekends with their familes, friends and parents easily , and most of the workers in countries and cites are belong to other cites beacause thet just travel miles for livelihood for their familes , For example if a person around 40 or 40 age above he is traveling across sea just to earn for his family , he have full right to spend quality time with his loved ones , but in our country there is so much pressure to work in a whole week and have barely nothing off day in weekend , it has to 3, or 4 weekends in a week so they will meet with their familes , however, they are earn for their familes , and in my opinion workers should have longer weekends than working days , Because health is a wealth

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have longer weekends, and you give relevant reasons, including time with family and the pressure of working long hours. The example of a worker travelling far to support their family also helps make the issue more concrete. However, the response addresses the question only partially because it does not explain in a focused way why the working week should be shorter or how longer weekends could benefit workers and employers. The suggestion that there should be “3, or 4 weekends in a week” is unclear and not realistically explained. Develop two or three main reasons with specific explanation, and keep the discussion centred on workers rather than adding students and government rules without support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a recognisable line of argument: it begins with agreement, gives reasons and an example, and ends by restating the view. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough, and nearly the whole essay is presented as one long sentence-like paragraph. Repeated links such as “and,” “so,” and “because” often join several different points without showing their relationship. For example, the discussion moves from workers’ family time to students’ weekends, then to travel and government responsibility. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons and conclusion. Within them, organise each paragraph around one main idea and use clearer transitions such as “Furthermore” or “For instance” only where they accurately connect the points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate your main view, including “freedom,” “pressure,” “quality time,” and “livelihood.” Some phrases are relevant to the topic, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make parts difficult to understand. For instance, “longers weekends,” “off day in weekend,” and “workers in countries and cites are belong to other cites” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “familes,” “beacause,” and “thier” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for work-life balance, working hours and family responsibilities, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses with “because,” “so,” and “however,” but the response relies heavily on long, loosely joined sentences, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement include “i totally agreed,” “god give us,” and “he have full right.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention; for example, “a whole week” and “barely nothing off day in weekend” are not formed accurately, while commas and capital letters are used inconsistently. These errors sometimes make the reader work to follow your meaning. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement.
