Student answer (Band 5.5)

People argure that there should be less workdays in a week and more holidays should be given to workers. This type of development is helpfull for the workers but can be disturbing for employers. Although I partially agree with this concept as it involves positive and negative aspects.

Less workdays and more off days, a dream of every person that falls in working class. Working five days a week could be very disturbing and also results in health issues. Government instituions should make policies for the working class that aligns with their interest and provie them with health benifits too, as working for a whole week can drain one's health. For example, if a perwon works five days a week, it can be difficult for him to pay attention to his health or his family which can lead to mental crises.

On the other hand, employers would not be happy with this kind of thought. Companies are based on the amount of effort emploies do, lower number of workdays can damage the out put of a company. Moreover, large firms work on commitments and can not afford delays so, lesser weekdays policys will hurt the reputation of owners.

However, this idea can be implemented on schools colleges and other education sectors. This will provide benefits for students as they can make an extra pocket money by working part time. In the end, I would liketo say that this type for ideas can not be implemented with the system ongoing beacause it would not be acceptable and workable

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a partly clear position: you say you “partially agree,” then conclude that the idea “cannot be implemented” under the current system. The response considers both workers’ wellbeing and employers’ concerns, which is relevant, but the argument is only partly developed. For example, the point that a five-day week can affect health and family life is supported by a brief example, while the claim that fewer workdays would damage company output is asserted without explaining how longer weekends would affect productivity or whether alternative schedules could address this. The paragraph about schools and students earning pocket money shifts away from the question of workers’ working weeks. To strengthen the response, maintain one consistent position and develop relevant reasons with clearer explanation and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about workers, a contrasting paragraph about employers, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “On the other hand” and “Moreover” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the discussion moves from workers and employers to schools and students without explaining how this relates to the proposed shorter working week. The conclusion also introduces a firm rejection that does not fully match the opening claim of partial agreement. Some links are mechanical, and the final sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed together. Organise the body around a consistent position, use each paragraph to develop one relevant point, and make the conclusion follow directly from the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “working class,” “health benefits,” “output,” “commitments,” and “reputation,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. There is also an attempt to express more specific concepts, such as “mental crises” and “part-time” work. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, for example “argure,” “helpfull,” “instituions,” “perwon,” and “lesser weekdays policys.” Phrases such as “a dream of every person that falls in working class” and “this type for ideas” are also unclear or awkward. These issues limit precision and sometimes make the reader pause. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for work schedules, productivity, and employee wellbeing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a concession with “Although” and a conditional example beginning “if a person works five days a week.” These attempts show some range, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, several sentence structures are incomplete or faulty. “Although I partially agree with this concept as it involves positive and negative aspects” is a dependent clause without a main clause, while “Less workdays and more off days, a dream…” is a fragment. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “Companies are based on the amount of effort employees do,” and punctuation is sometimes missing or awkward. Practise complete clause structures and review agreement and punctuation, especially when joining contrasting ideas.
