Student answer (Band 6.0)
Weekend is a refreshment for people who has a corporate work life. Its argued that working period of workers in a week should be lesser and rather they should have a extended weekend. I totally agree with that opinion, because i think it will boost their work ability and give them mental peace.
On the on hand, corporate workers have to deal with a lot of responsibility regularly, so its quite hard for them to find any leisure time. For instance they have to submit their work within short time, so having a long work week sometimes feel exausting for them, sometimes due to tiredness workes could not finish their duty properly. If it get shorter then they can relax and after the weekend they will finish their work wth more concentretion.
On the other hand, due to workload employees can not spent enough time with their friends, family and they also failed to do their personal duty it leads them to a huge mental pressure, even they can feel that they are getting dittached from their close ones. Consiquently, longer weekend can solves this issue. For example, on weekend they can help their parthner with household work, spend time wth friends also hangout with them. This will boost their mind so that they will get back to their work more passion it will give them mental saticfaction.
In my opinion, company's should understand that workers have their own personal life too, so allow them to have a longer weekend is ultimately good for compamy's own sake, that's how works will be able to give their full potential to the job.
In conclusion, shorter weekdays will boost workes work ability.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”) and remains consistent in the body and conclusion. You give relevant reasons: a shorter working week may help employees recover and spend more time with family and friends, and you include examples such as sharing household work. This fully addresses the central question. The response also shows some development beyond a simple opinion, particularly in explaining how rest could improve employees’ performance. However, the argument focuses mainly on benefits to workers and gives limited explanation of how the working week itself could be shortened or why employers should accept the change. The final sentence also repeats one benefit rather than drawing the main reasons together. Develop these points more fully to make the case more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related reasons, and a conclusion. The use of “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps signal stages in the argument. However, the first transition is not quite appropriate because the two body paragraphs largely support the same position rather than presenting opposing sides. Some links between ideas are also unclear: the sentence beginning “This will boost their mind” moves quickly from social time to improved work performance without explaining the connection. The conclusion is very brief and does not summarise both main reasons. Use transitions that reflect the relationship between your points, and make the progression within each paragraph more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to work and wellbeing, including “workload,” “leisure time,” “mental pressure,” and “personal life,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “full potential.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “Weekend is a refreshment” and “boost their mind” are not natural expressions in this context, while “work ability” is repeated and imprecise. Misspellings such as “exausting,” “concentretion,” and “saticfaction” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of natural phrases for rest, productivity, and work-life balance, and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “so,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences. Examples include “people who has,” where the verb does not agree with its subject, and “longer weekend can solves,” which combines an incorrect verb form with a singular noun phrase. Other issues include “workers have to deal … regularly, so its quite hard,” where punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention, and “allow them to have a longer weekend is,” where the clause structure is faulty. Articles, possessives, and plural forms also need more consistent control. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and simplifying complex sentences when needed.
