Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that the working week should be shorter and workers should get a longer weekend. I completely agree with this statement as having longer weekend will enable workers who live far from their home to meet their families and it will also help them to stay healthy and to maintain work life balance.
One of the most positive impact to have a longer weekend is that, the workers, who live in another city for their job will have enough time to go back to their families because travelling between the cities take hours. For example, someone from Coventry, who do his job in London cannot go back to his home every day after work or every week if the weekend is short. If he has longer weekend then he can easily visit his family on every weekend.
Other than that, jobs like construction, cleaning, teaching and engineering are very hard and stressfull. Anyone from these fields can get tired who is working for long hours and doing extra shifts. For example, workers from these fields must need a longer weekend so they can relax their mind. It will also enable them to maintain work life balance and perform better in their job. They will have more time to rest so their physical and mental stess release which happens due to hard and complex jobs. It will also keep them fit for their job for longer period of time.
In conclusion, there should must be longer weekend for workers. Having longer weekend will help them to stay in touch with their families and stay physically and mentally fit.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: a longer weekend could help workers who live away from their families travel home, and it could allow people in demanding jobs to rest and protect their health. The Coventry–London example makes the first point more concrete. However, the second reason is less fully developed: you list several occupations and mention better performance and fitness, but do not explain these outcomes in much detail. To strengthen the response, develop each main idea with a clearer chain of cause and effect and a specific example. The response addresses the task, but some supporting ideas remain general.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Paragraphs are focused, and transitions such as “For example,” “Other than that,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. The progression is generally easy to follow, though some linking is mechanical and a few references are unclear. For instance, “Anyone from these fields can get tired who is working for long hours” makes the relationship between the worker and the clause difficult to follow. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from demanding work to rest, work-life balance, performance, and fitness. Use clearer sentence links and develop one consequence at a time to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “work-life balance,” “construction,” “engineering,” and “physically and mentally fit.” However, the range is limited in places, and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision. Examples include “stressfull,” “stess release,” and “must need,” while “stay in touch with their families” does not quite express the intended idea of spending time with them. Repetition of “longer weekend” and “workers” also makes the wording less flexible. Aim to use more precise phrases for rest, travel, and family contact, and check spelling and natural word combinations. These improvements would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional sentence (“If he has longer weekend then he can easily visit his family”) and a relative clause describing the worker from Coventry. The overall meaning is usually clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “having longer weekend” needs an article, “travelling between the cities take hours” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “there should must be” combines incompatible modal forms. The sentence beginning “Anyone from these fields can get tired who is working…” also has faulty clause structure. Work on articles, agreement, modal verbs, and the placement of relative clauses, then proofread each sentence for accuracy while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
