Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, Life is too much busy. People are spending more time on work place because they are doing 6 days of work every week and they are feel tired after 6 days work. They do not give time their family on holiday because of six days tiredness they like to do rest. So, according to my opion, workers should have a longer weekend. There are some reasons, why i agreed with this statment. its mention in next two paragraphs.

Firstly, todays people becomes money minded and they like to do more work for earn money. some people are do work on holiday for earn money. due to this thinking, they do not give time to their family and they do not do love to their family. However, goverment give a longer weekend then they should have time for their family and they can spend more time with their childern. Nowadays, everything to much expensive and todays, it is very difficult to afford anything. this is the second reason people like to do more work. But if Goverment are provide tax free and on cheap provide daily uses thing to people then people can relife from daily worried and they can spend more time family.

Todays, parents do more time spend on work place and children are do spend time alone at home when they are alone at home tren they do like to spend more on telephone and they are learn bad things on phone. nowadays , childern future is not good because they are doing more drugs.

overall, according to my opion, workers should have a longer weekend because its can help for spending time family. according to me, family value is more raterthen others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that workers should have a longer weekend, and you give relevant reasons involving family time and children. The point that parents’ work schedules can leave children alone is connected to the topic, but the claim that children may learn “bad things” or use drugs is not explained or supported, so it is difficult to assess. The discussion of high prices and government tax relief also shifts attention from the proposed shorter working week, and the link between this policy and longer weekends needs clarification. To strengthen the response, explain how reducing workdays would benefit workers and employers, then develop each reason with a specific example or a clearer explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “overall” make the basic structure visible. However, the progression within the body is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from money-minded workers to family time, then to prices and tax relief, without clearly showing how each point supports a shorter working week. The next paragraph introduces children’s phone use and drugs abruptly, with little connection to the preceding discussion. Some linking phrases, including “So” and “However,” do not express the relationship between ideas precisely. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, use clear topic sentences, and connect examples directly to the claim they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “longer weekend,” “family,” “children,” and “expensive,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “people are spending more time on work place,” “do love to their family,” and “daily worried.” Repetition of “time,” “work,” and “family” also limits precision. Spelling and word-form errors, including “opion,” “statment,” “goverment,” and “childern,” are noticeable and sometimes make reading less smooth. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for work schedules and family life, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

There are attempts to use longer sentences and clauses, for example, “if Government are provide tax free…” and the sentence beginning “because they are doing 6 days of work.” However, these structures are often faulty, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles or sentence construction. Examples include “they are feel tired,” “people becomes money minded,” and “parents do more time spend on work place.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, with sentence starts such as “its” and “todays” left uncapitalised. These errors can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
