Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some individuals believe that working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend. I disagree with this statement because when people have longer weekend then they did not properly focus on their buisness.
Firstly, the main reason is that when people have more days on weekend then they do not work because when people think that about their weekend then they only plan their weekend. Furthermore, when people do less work in their company, then the currancy of the country is decrease because when we have given less time on thier duty the companies earn less profit and they give less profit to the country. For example, when a person have their own buisness and they installed the rule work less and weekend more, then they did not progress their own buisness.
Secondly, the other reason is that the when individuals have more days for holidays, then they did not want to go on the work. Moreover, they only want to visit the natural and caltural places on the weekend. thus it is not preferable for country and company. By contrast, sometime company gives more days for weekend because citizens are tire due to more work. For instance, when people have more off on their work then thay only thought for their weekend.
In conclusion, i disagree with this statement because it is not preferable for their country, but sometime companies should their longer weekend for their employ because people visit any peacefull place then they feel fresh and happiness and more focus on their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear disagreement in the opening and return to it in the conclusion, so your position is identifiable. You also give reasons about business productivity and workers’ motivation, with a business example. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained: for instance, the claim that a longer weekend reduces national currency or company profits needs a clearer link and more convincing support. The second body paragraph repeats the idea that workers may focus on holidays, while the concession about rest and feeling fresh is not fully reconciled with your disagreement. The response is 246 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; the 12 words copied from the prompt are excluded. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example and address the benefits of longer weekends more directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several links are repetitive or unclear. The repeated “when people” clauses make the first paragraph feel circular, while “Furthermore” introduces a claim about national currency without clearly showing how it follows from the previous point. “By contrast” signals a different view, but the concession that workers may be tired is not connected clearly to your main position. Aim for one distinct point per paragraph, explain it in sequence, and use linking phrases only when their logical relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “working week,” “company,” “profit,” “holidays,” and “focus,” which makes the general topic understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “weekend,” “people,” and “work.” Some inaccurate word choices and collocations make meaning less clear, such as “the currancy of the country is decrease,” “more off on their work,” and “visit any peacefull place.” Spelling errors such as “buisness,” “caltural,” and “thay” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for productivity, rest, and economic effects, and check spelling and collocations. This would help you express your ideas more clearly without relying on repeated basic wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, often using “because,” “when,” and “if” to explain reasons. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but complex sentences are frequently faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “when people have longer weekend then they did not properly focus” has problems with the article and tense, while “the currancy of the country is decrease” has an incorrect verb form. In “a person have their own buisness,” the subject and verb do not agree. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and one subordinate clause, then check tense consistency, singular/plural agreement, and articles before adding further clauses.
