Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's fast-paced world, employees are expected to work for longer period of time throughout the week while leaving them with limited hour for personal activity. I strongly agree that working week should be reduced and weekend should be expended, as this could improve employee's mental health as well as overall productivity.
One of the major reasons to have longer weekends for the worker is that it gives more time to rest and restart their minds. Working continuously can cause physical and mental exhaustion which can hamper them physically and mentally. Therefore employee need sufficient time to relax and they can spend time with family, pursue hobbies and participate in physical activities. As a result, this can reduce stress and improve mental health. For example, my father spend his weekends with us and we do lots of activities together, he seems so happy and relaxed during the weekends then other week days. Additionally, these activities make him feel more energetic and refreshed for following day's work.
Another main reason for being agreed is, productivity and efficiency. Working fewer hours does not mean producing less. Well rested employees are more focused and they are less likely to make mistakes. In addition, they can complete taskes more efficiently as a result, companies may get benefited from improved performance of employees.
furthermore, employee who receive adequate rest are more likely to remain motivated and concerntrated on their responsibilities, ultimately improving their overall productivity.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that reducing the working and expending the weekends would benefit both employees and employers. It would promote a healthier work life balance while potentially increasing productivity and efficiency in the workplace.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both the benefit of longer weekends for workers’ wellbeing and the possible productivity gains for employers, with relevant support such as the example of your father spending time with family. This covers the task well. To make the response more fully developed, explain the proposed change more precisely—for instance, how a shorter working week could be organised—and extend the employer-focused point beyond the general claim that performance may improve. The personal example illustrates relaxation, but it could be linked more explicitly to how a longer weekend affects work after the break. These additions would make the reasoning more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from wellbeing to productivity is logical, and signposts such as “One of the major reasons,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the productivity discussion is split across two paragraphs without a clear reason; “furthermore” begins a new paragraph but continues the same point. There is also a run-on connection in “more efficiently as a result, companies may get benefited.” Grouping related ideas together and using punctuation or a clearer transition would make the flow smoother. Some references, such as “these activities,” could also be made more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “physical and mental exhaustion,” “sufficient time to relax,” “motivated,” and “overall productivity.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but several inaccurate word forms, spellings, and collocations reduce precision: “expended” is used where “extended” is intended, “taskes” is misspelled, and “concerntrated” is misspelled. Phrases such as “restart their minds” and “get benefited” are also unnatural in this context. Some repetition of “productivity,” “employees,” and “mental” limits flexibility. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms; more precise phrasing would help your ideas sound natural and assured.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure (“as this could improve…”) and a relative clause (“employees who receive adequate rest…”). The meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms occur across the response. For example, “employees are expected to work for longer period” needs an article or plural form, “employee need” requires subject–verb agreement, and “my father spend” should use the past-tense form. The sentence beginning “Working fewer hours does not mean producing less” is a clear, effective structure, but the following sentence joins two independent ideas without suitable punctuation. Review agreement and sentence boundaries, and proofread for consistent control of these patterns.
