Student answer (Band 6.0)

People used to debate on that the number of days, one would work should be less than 5 days and folks should enjoy there long weekends. I partially agree with the statement because it varies case by case.

In my opinion, individuals having shift based jobs should have a long off after working days. Shift based jobs are very hectic, someday they are sleeping at night and the other day they are working in late hours, so to manage there sleep scheduele, one would require long weekends. Also the person who is spending 9 hours in the manufacturing plant like atmosphere, standing on his/her feet all day long, then they also deserves a long weekend to recharge thereselves for the new milestones.

Considering the being who is 9 to 6 just on their seat, and using laptop/computer or speniding hours in a corporate office, there level of tiredness is not too much to have a long days off on weekend. Corporate offices do have proper arrangements in their places like to take a nap, coffee cafes, gaming zones etc. If we discuss about the teaching profession, a professor have maximum of three classes in a day and in the remaining hours they are free. They already have enough time to relax thereselves.

Every profession have it's level of rigidness and everyone has the right to demand a perfect work-life balance, majority of the working class do not have any other activity except job on there working days. Above are the reasons on what basis i mentioned that demanding a long weekend varies case by case, not in every scenario working days should be less.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you partially agree, arguing that longer breaks are more necessary for shift and physically demanding workers than for some office-based professionals. These examples are relevant and give the response a reasoned basis. However, the discussion does not fully establish why the working week itself should be shorter, as opposed to providing longer breaks to selected workers. The claims about professors having only a few classes and office workers being less tired are also broad and receive little support, so some ideas are less fully developed than others. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and practical implications of reducing working days, then qualify your position with more precise examples and support for the groups you compare.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces a qualified position, considers shift and physically demanding work, contrasts this with office and teaching roles, and concludes by restating the case-by-case view. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “Also,” “Considering,” and “If we discuss” signal changes in focus. At times, however, the links are mechanical or the references are unclear. For example, “Considering the being who is 9 to 6” is difficult to interpret, and “Above are the reasons on what basis” makes the conclusion’s connection to the preceding points awkward. Use clearer topic sentences and explicit comparisons, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “shift based jobs,” “manufacturing plant,” “work-life balance,” and “corporate office,” which helps convey the main ideas. There is also an attempt to vary expression rather than repeat the task wording. However, the range and control are uneven: informal choices such as “folks” and “being” are not well suited to an academic essay, while several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, including “long off,” “long days off,” and “level of rigidness.” Spelling errors such as “scheduele,” “thereselves,” and “speniding” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and give the vocabulary a more consistently academic tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and explanatory structures, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some sentence forms are effective, such as the explanation beginning “because it varies case by case.” However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “a professor have” should use a singular verb, and “they also deserves” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening sentence, “People used to debate on that the number of days…,” is also structurally awkward, while “Every profession have it’s” combines agreement and possessive-form errors. Review subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around clear clauses; careful proofreading for punctuation and sentence boundaries will improve control.
