Student answer (Band 6.0)

The working days should be less and employees should have a longer weekend. I completely disagree with the statement my views are explained further in the paragraphs with relevant examples.

Firstly, i like to discuss individuals who want shorter working days in a week. Furthermore, if citizen get more shorter days then they get lazy and relaxed and it impact on their mental path they run out of no power and willing to their own work. Moreover, if citizen decided only 3 or 4 days they work in a week then it also effect on economic purpose. Because, rising population in nation most of the company have many customers and consumers for that they need many talented people in their company for handing.

Secondly, company and business places they have to understand that increasing in festive holidays are equally important so that tax payer are spending there time with their family and they are free to do a small trip. Moreover, the work load on individuals are increasing rapidly because of this many employees are decided having bedrest. For example, if there is a 5 working days in a week but the amount of work are not equally distributed then some of the workers are having headache and at the end they decide spending time in a home.

In conclusion, i stick with stance that having shorter working week should bed decision for above given reasons. On the the hand, company are equally important in phenomena they also have to understand there individuals problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent and often unclear. While you state a clear position, the arguments regarding the economic impact and the mental state of workers are underdeveloped and sometimes confusing. For instance, the claim that shorter weeks make people 'lazy' or cause them to 'run out of no power' lacks logical support and clarity. The second paragraph attempts to discuss the importance of holidays, but the connection to the prompt is tenuous. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly supports your stance, providing concrete examples rather than general statements that are difficult to follow.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear logical links. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, which hinders the flow. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the work load on individuals are increasing rapidly because of this many employees are decided having bedrest'. The relationship between sentences is often strained, making it difficult for the reader to follow your line of reasoning. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring each sentence builds logically on the previous one is essential.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. You rely on basic terms and struggle with collocations, such as 'economic purpose', 'mental path', and 'decided having bedrest'. There are also instances where word choice is inappropriate for an academic essay, such as 'run out of no power'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary and focus on using words in their correct context. Try to avoid repeating simple words and instead look for more precise alternatives that accurately convey your intended meaning in a formal tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a limited range of grammatical structures, and the essay contains frequent errors in sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and word order. Examples include 'The working days should be less', 'if citizen get more shorter days', and 'the amount of work are not equally distributed'. These errors are persistent and sometimes make the meaning difficult to grasp. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and checking for consistent verb tense usage. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect pluralisation will also help significantly.
