Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes I do agree with the given statement the working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend because to grow the company the workers should be physically and mentally good for the next week the company should take care of the worker to achieve there yearly goal complete. As per my experience the company which I have worked with is preety good at it the take care of each and every employee there is less work load and weekend are longer so we can meet our family and spend time with your self which make our mind free for next week. But some times the company give shorter weekend due to workload it is discussed with the workers if they agree then the company take the decision. By fresh mind and good mental and physical health the workers get new and better ideas to achieve the goal of company.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 153 words. This significant under-length results in a failure to develop ideas sufficiently. While you clearly state your agreement with the prompt, the arguments regarding employee well-being and productivity are presented in a very brief, repetitive manner. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples. The current response lacks the depth required for an academic essay, as it reads more like a short paragraph than a structured argument. You need to provide a clear introduction, two or three well-developed body paragraphs, and a conclusion to fully address the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks paragraphing, which is essential for organizing ideas logically. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas using words like 'because' and 'but', the overall structure is mechanical and lacks a variety of cohesive devices. To improve, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, body paragraphs for your main arguments, and a conclusion. Using transition words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' would help create a smoother flow between your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'company', 'workers', and 'good'. There are also several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'preety' instead of 'pretty', 'there' instead of 'their', and 'your self' instead of 'themselves'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'work-life balance', 'productivity', 'mental well-being', and 'professional efficiency', while ensuring correct spelling and appropriate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and sentence structure. For example, 'the take care of each and every employee' should be 'they take care of', and 'weekend are longer' should be 'weekends are longer'. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which makes the text difficult to read. The range of grammatical structures is limited to simple sentences. To improve, focus on using a mix of complex and compound sentences, and pay closer attention to basic grammar rules like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
