Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the work fields, workers want working week should be shorter and weekend longer for them. I fully agree with worker should have give longer weekend for enjoyment than working hours and i will discuss both perspectives in further paragraphs.

Firstly, if worker get longer weekend so they can remain mentally fresh and they are more relax because of heavy workload where they work so they feel stress at their work but if companies give him long weekend so they can more enjoy with their family and do other work which important for their family. For example, if any company spent work for worker in week of only 5 days so worker have more time to get fresh and enjoyment it has also benefit for company like worker spent more attention to their work.

Secondly, If work hours remain shorter in any work so worker feel not boring or feel stress at their work and they focus on their work. After weekend, worker give their full energy to their work and remain fresh at work. For example, In some companies have only few hours work for their employee after they give freedom their employee to do other free time work so employee get benefit for it and they do not feel any stress.

In my opinion, both perspective have some benefits or loss also i think companies should give more freedom for worker to spent their free time to with their family and remain stress free.

In conclusion, sometimes it depends on organisation what type of their work and also it benefit for worker for extra time work and get more pay but i think worker deserve more free time than work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. While you mention mental health and family time, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The instruction to 'discuss both perspectives' is misinterpreted; you mention 'both perspectives' in the introduction but fail to provide a balanced discussion of why someone might disagree (e.g., economic impact or productivity concerns). The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as it introduces the idea that workers might prefer longer hours for more pay, which undermines your initial position. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, fully developed argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'In my opinion, both perspective have some benefits or loss' is confusing because it does not clearly link to the previous arguments. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' without a clear antecedent. The progression of ideas is somewhat circular, particularly in the second paragraph, where the same points about stress and energy are repeated. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand') would significantly improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. You frequently use simple words like 'work', 'worker', and 'enjoyment'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'In the work fields' (should be 'In the workplace') and 'spent work for worker' (which is unclear). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to employment, such as 'work-life balance', 'productivity', 'professional obligations', or 'remuneration'. Expanding your vocabulary will allow you to express your arguments with greater nuance and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('worker get', 'worker feel'), article usage ('the' missing before 'worker'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex structures, such as 'if any company spent work for worker in week of only 5 days so worker have more time'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
