Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, everybody has hectic schedule even though if they are working five days of week people feel stressed out. so if the working week increased by one day more people will be face many issue, so I am disagree with the statement that working hours should be higher. I will discuss my ideas in the upcoming paragraphs to support my statement.
To commence with, People could fall into depression. Workers who are working five days a week .10 hrs per day they may get ill. For example,
in some offices employees finish there work at 7pm and then they will not get their own personal time or they can not spend time with their families which can send them into the stress. So, if they have weekend off then one day they could spend with their families and may be other day they could relax or they will get enough time for themselves.
Furthermore, working week should be lesser because every work needs a smooth run to be successful. For instance, employees are the spine of any sales organisation so working long hours can make the people tired. sitting in a company for many hours can make them suffer from back aches and less concentrating on the work which can decrease the sales of a company.
Last but not least, increasing working week is not a good idea as it only increase the anxiety and stress levels. Also, if people will not have time to spent with their families ultimately it may lead to conflicts in the families. So in my point of view five days are sufficient for work it should not be increased.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against increasing the working week. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide reasons such as mental health and physical well-being, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'back aches' is a good specific example, but it is not fully connected to the broader argument about the length of the working week. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point that directly reinforces your central argument without repeating the same concerns about stress and family time.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'Last but not least' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the opening paragraph contains several run-on sentences and grammatical errors that disrupt the logical progression of your introduction. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences are clearly connected to one another to create a smoother, more natural flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your opinions clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary such as 'hectic schedule', 'depression', and 'anxiety'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'I am disagree' instead of 'I disagree' and 'less concentrating' instead of 'lack of concentration'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and ensure that you are using words in their correct grammatical form. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repeating words like 'work' and 'time'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it only increase'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. For example, 'if the working week increased' should be 'if the working week were increased'. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
