Student answer (Band 7.0)
Emphasis on the amount of work done weekly have been debated to be reduced and workers weekend should be longer. I believe this is a good development as workers will benefit tremendously from this.
First, it promotes more productivity at work. When workers get a reasonable amount of rest during the weekends, they will be able to do their job more effectively as they wouldn’t be stressed when they resume their various jobs the following week. This enables workers perform better and promotes high performance during work hours. For instance, an employ that had a longer break from their source of livelihood during the weekend will become less anxious mor focused and more diligent at work.
Second, adequate and long weekend promotes family time. When employees have proper Tim to spend with their family they develop more bond with family and friends creating more work life balance for the individual. This promotes workers to be more engage with what is actually going on with their families and never fill left out of quality family time. For example, individuals who have more time from work in the weekends can properly enjoy their family time, take their loved ones out for picnic creating more family unity and love.
However, working more and reducing weekends for employees can make more task been completed at work, but this is detrimental to the employees as they would not be have proper rest leading to cases of mental exhaustion eventually reducing productivity in the long run.
In conclusion, reducing work time for workers enables them become more productive at work and creates more work life balance for them, balancing every aspect of family films they need.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. The ideas regarding productivity and work-life balance are relevant and logically developed. However, the essay suffers from some minor issues in clarity and expression, such as the phrase 'family films' in the conclusion, which seems to be a typo or misuse of vocabulary. The arguments are generally well-supported with examples, though the development could be more sophisticated to reach higher bands. The response covers all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. The use of cohesive devices such as 'First', 'Second', 'However', and 'In conclusion' helps the reader follow the argument. While the progression is logical, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is coherent, allowing the reader to follow the writer's line of reasoning without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'productivity', 'mental exhaustion', and 'work-life balance'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'employ' instead of 'employee', 'mor focused' (spelling), and 'fill left out' instead of 'feel left out'. These errors do not impede communication but prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and subject-verb agreement, such as 'Emphasis... have been debated' and 'workers perform better' (missing 'to'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are missing commas in complex sentences. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the text, and the errors do not significantly impede the reader's understanding.
