Student answer (Band 7.0)
Some individuals think that working week should be shorter with the extension of weekends. I agree with this notion that it would lead to mental relaxation and productive family time for the workers.
To commence with the adoption of this approach, the first and foremost point is workers will feel relaxed. Moreover, today fast paced life, individuals spending a lot of time on their work and used their full energy to done any daunting task for fulfill their needs. In addition to this, with increasing inflation, opportunities for relaxation are limited, so many workers work on double shift. Overexertion leads to many health issues such as obesity, back pain, sleeplessness and stress. For instance, a survey in Japan a majority of thirties have developed rare work related anxiety owing to pressure to meet workplace deadlines. As a result, these interactions help maintain intergenerational relationships and reinforce family bonds.
Moving towards the predominant point is relaxation in working hours and relaxed phase would allow for more quality time with the family. To elaborate it, as individuals remain busy throughout the week and they miss more opportunities to contribute positively as family members. Whether it is a birthday party, family Event , anniversary and other emergencies,a person absence can detrimental effects. Furthermore, in the United States , a study has shown an increase in case of teenage substance abuse, mainly because of inattention they experience at home, this subjecting them to isolation and the resulting circumstances. This clearly shows the need for more free time for workers to spend with their families to help curtail these situations.
In conclusion, although increasing holidays might effect the overall productivity of the organizations. I strongly believe that potential outcomes of positive mental health and strengthened family ties outweigh any drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of a shorter working week. The ideas regarding mental health and family time are relevant and generally well-supported. However, the development is occasionally uneven; for instance, the paragraph regarding family time introduces a study on teenage substance abuse that feels slightly disconnected from the main argument about worker relaxation. While the position is consistent, some points could be more thoroughly explained to reach a higher band. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In addition to this', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between sentences is slightly abrupt, particularly in the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, which helps the reader follow the argument without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, such as 'daunting', 'overexertion', and 'curtail'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'relaxed phase' instead of 'relaxed schedule' or 'a person absence can detrimental effects' (missing 'be'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'today fast paced life' (missing 'in'), 'used their full energy to done' (incorrect verb form), and 'might effect' (should be 'affect'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered highly accurate. A greater focus on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
