Student answer (Band 6.0)
The duty week should be shorter and worker should have longer holidays. This has become a very heated topic in this contemporary society. Should workers have shorter weekends or longer on what reason I am in favor of this or against it will be discussed in this essay .
Several individuals say that workers should be given longer holidays . Mostly those who are getting a handsome amount in salary are in favor of this . They say that if a employee spend time in workplace more he gets frustrated with the grasp of time . He need time to recharge and refresh . He need to spend time outside and a lot of things are more crucial to him .
In my perspective an obsessive and passionate employee never demands for this because this is only beneficial for those who are earning six figure salary not for daily labour who are working in cafes , hotels , resturant , factories . These people are roughly earning their living and production of the products depends on them . If they get long holidays how are they going to live on their low salary .
When the products are less and the demand is getting massive the prices will increase. The reason to that is
as i have said before production of most products will be decreased this will encourage companies to charge more . Over the time this small act of relaxation will become a threat to the government .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt but lacks a clear, consistent position. While you argue against the proposal, the introduction is confusing, asking if workers should have 'shorter weekends' rather than a 'shorter working week'. The arguments regarding economic impact on low-wage earners are relevant, but the development is somewhat limited. To improve, ensure your thesis statement clearly reflects the prompt's core question. Additionally, the essay would benefit from a more balanced exploration of the opposing view before refuting it, as the current structure feels slightly disjointed. Ensure that all ideas directly support your stance against the proposal to maintain a stronger focus throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In my perspective' and 'The reason to that is', but they are occasionally used inaccurately or feel mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the introduction where the topic is misstated. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that links back to your main argument. Improving the flow between the economic argument and the conclusion would also help the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some basic terms like 'handsome amount' and 'a lot of things', which are somewhat informal or vague. There are also some collocation issues, such as 'grasp of time' and 'duty week'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to economics and labor, such as 'productivity', 'economic output', or 'financial stability'. Focus on using words that are more precise and appropriate for an academic context rather than relying on everyday conversational phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('a employee spend', 'He need'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('on what reason I am in favor of this'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around punctuation marks. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and article usage. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'although', 'whereas', 'consequently') to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control while ensuring accuracy.
