Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often argued that the working week should be short and workers should have a longer weekend. I agree with this statement for two main reasons.
The primary reason why I agree is that employees need a time to spend their time with their families or friends. Therefore, they need a longer weekend and short working week. For instance, there is a research of "Why married individuals are breaking up?" the outcome was strange. Most of them separate because of one of them spend too much time on work.. Consequently, working hours make a huge impact on relationship, despite doing their work too many hours we should decrease the time of work. so they can have fun their leisure time with their loved ones.
Another reason supporting my opinion is that they need a time for hobby. In other words, a longer weekend can give a time for their hobby because they also need a period for their hobby. Furthermore, they can acquire new abilities or hobbies during a weekend. For example, Malaysia's has a very long holiday break, and their happinies level is better from other countries. Hence, this further supports my view that a longer weekend helps to reduce stress from a workplace.
In conclusion, although some people may hold the opposite opinion, I believe that the weekend should be longer and working week should be shorter because reduced working week can support relationship between couples and family members. Moreover, extended weekend will sustain mental health, and can assist work quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on family relationships and personal development/mental health. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding 'married individuals breaking up' is vague, and the reference to Malaysia lacks specific context or data to fully support the argument. While the main points are clear, they would benefit from more detailed explanation and more concrete, logical evidence to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points and restates the position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another reason', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between sentences is slightly awkward, such as the transition in the second paragraph: 'Consequently, working hours make a huge impact on relationship, despite doing their work too many hours we should decrease the time of work.' Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is some attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'leisure time', 'mental health', and 'workplace'. However, the range is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly with the use of 'hobby' and 'time'. There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'happinies level' (happiness) and 'better from other countries' (better than). To improve, the student should focus on using a wider range of synonyms and more precise collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a time', 'a research'), subject-verb agreement, and preposition usage. For example, 'there is a research of' should be 'there is research on', and 'they can have fun their leisure time' is grammatically incorrect. These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable throughout the text. Increasing the accuracy of basic structures and refining the use of complex sentences would help improve the score in this criterion.
