Some people argue that the weekend's should be longer as compared to working days. In my opinion, I agree with those in favour of shorter workdays because nowadays working hours has become an exploitable assets for the employers. In this essay i would answer the reason behind increasing the duration of weekends would not only be beneficial for workers but as well for the employers.
Some workers are forced to remain out of contact with their families because of their busy working schedules. For example healthcare workers who are scarcely given days-off, even after demanding 48 hours shifts. As a result, they do not have the time to spend with their families or loved ones. Furthermore, constant pressures of reaching deadlines, finishing reports and even unexpected errors while working leaves deep psychological stress and mental health concerns among them. Subsequently many people begun to under perform. As a result employee's working efficency suffer Considerably. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of shorter work weeks. However, the response is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the argument. The second paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence ('...worked for long hour in w'), which prevents the full development of the supporting evidence. While the main ideas regarding family time and mental health are relevant, they are not fully explored or supported with sufficient detail due to the brevity and the unfinished nature of the text. To improve, you must ensure all arguments are fully articulated and the essay meets the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Subsequently', and 'As a result' are used to link ideas, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the abrupt ending of the second paragraph disrupts the overall flow and coherence of the argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, but the lack of a complete thought in the second body paragraph hinders the overall structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinion clearly. There are some attempts at more sophisticated vocabulary, such as 'exploitable assets', 'prioritized', and 'psychological stress'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'working efficency' (efficiency) and 'benefical' (beneficial). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and spelling errors, such as 'weekend's' (weekends) and 'employeers' (employers). The range is sufficient to communicate the main points, but the errors and limited variety prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('working hours has become'), incorrect pluralization ('weekend's'), and missing articles or incorrect word forms ('in w', 'greater work-balance lifestyles'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and spacing after periods. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication.
