Student answer (Band 5.0)

IN THIS ERA, MANY WORKER DEMANDED THAT WORKDAY SHOULD BE SMALLER AND WEEKEND SHOULD BE LARGER.I STANT WITH THIS STATEMENT THAT THERE SHOULD BE MORE DAYS IN WEEKENDS AND THIS ESSAY WILL GIVE BRIFE EXPLANATION WHY.

FIRSTLY,BY GIVING MORE WEEKEND,WORKER WILL GIVE MORE PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIANCY IN WORK .THIS IS DUE TO THEY WILL FEEL RELEXED, STRESS FREE AND HAPPY.FOR EXAMPLE,IF AN EMPLOYEE HAS ONLY 5 WORKING DAYS AND 2 WEEKEND DAYS THAT IS SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS.THEY HAVE MORE TIME TO SPEND WITH THERE FAMILY OR FRIENDS.AFTER THAT THEY WILL BE MORE RELEXED AT COMPANY AND THAT WILL SIGNIFICENTLY IMPROVE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL.THATS WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO GIVE MORE WEEKEND SO THEY CAN RELEX.

MOREOVER, A PERSON WHO WORK ALL DAYS TENDS TO GET A MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. THIS IS PROVED MY SOME RESEARCH THAT MAJORITY OF EMPLOYEES IN A STRICT COMPANY WHERE THEY HAVE TO OVERTIME SOMETIMES HAVE EXPERIANCE STRESS AND HEADACHE PROBLEM BECAUSE OF WORK BURDEN.HOWEVER, THEY CANNOT GO TO THE DOCTOR AS THEY DON'Y HAVE EONGH TIME TO VISIT. THEREFORE , MOST WORKER IGNORE THERE HEALTH CONDITION.THAT IS WHY IT IS REALLY NECCASSRY TO GIVE LONGER WEEKEND FOR RELEXATION AND GIVE THERE TIME IN NECCESSRY THINGS.

IN CONCLUTION, THERE ARE MANY MORE disadvantages if we ask the employess that what are problems and the company should take action according to the respones. Additionally, is also effect the mental health of an individual and by giving shorter weekdays one can be benifical for the company. So, i highly recommand that the working week must be shorter and the weekend must be longer to enjoy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding productivity and mental health are relevant, though they are somewhat underdeveloped. The supporting examples, such as the mention of '5 working days' and 'research' on stress, are general rather than specific. The conclusion introduces new, slightly confusing ideas about 'disadvantages' that were not previously discussed, which weakens the overall task response. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained point and that the conclusion strictly summarizes the arguments already presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'In conclusion'). There are issues with referencing; for example, in the final paragraph, the phrase 'is also effect' lacks a clear subject, making the connection between ideas unclear. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed due to grammatical errors, which occasionally hinders the logical progression of the argument. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun references would enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'RELEXED', 'EFFICIANCY', 'NECCASSRY', 'RECOMMAND') and word choice issues (e.g., 'worker demanded' instead of 'workers demand', 'give more weekend' instead of 'have more time off'). While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and persistent spelling mistakes prevent the essay from reaching a higher score. Focusing on accurate spelling and learning collocations related to work-life balance would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('many worker demanded') and incorrect word forms ('it is really neccassry to give longer weekend for relexation'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. The frequency of these errors is high, which occasionally causes difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
