Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argue that to reduce the working days and workers should facilitate with broader weekend. I strongly disagree with given statement because this step leaves a great effect on workers incomes.
To begin, first of all when the worker do short time work and take rest for many days it effects on production which reduce the income of owners than the salaries should be very low because owners pay according to their production and incomes. Secondly, when workers spend most of their time in homes than they spend more money in other activities because it is nature of human in free time they spend more as compare to in busy schedules. For instance, in free time worker spend time in shopping and eating outside where they spend more if they have long time because mostly salary holder spend their weekends in such activities due to the lack of time in working days.
Furthermore, long holidays produce laziness in workers because in free time they sleep at late night and awake in afternoon which effect on their health and create laziness in their minds. For example, at the weekend mostly people do some activities till late night because they are tension free about the offices routine after sleeping in late night they do not awake in morning and sleep till sunrise which effect on health they feel lazy in office time because long weekend make the routine of late sleep.
To conclude, longer weekend create a strong effect on money circulation because the owners pay very low according to working hours. This step also effect on the working speed of working they feel lazy after long term rest because in long holidays they do not follow normal routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You clearly state your position against the proposal, which is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, your argument regarding the 'nature of human' spending more money during free time is a bit speculative and lacks a strong logical link to the overall economic impact. While you address the prompt, the points regarding health and laziness are repetitive and could be better supported with more nuanced reasoning. To improve, focus on expanding your arguments with more concrete examples or deeper analysis of the economic and social implications of a shorter working week.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin', 'Secondly', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by repetitive sentence structures and awkward phrasing. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'production' and 'salaries' is somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'short time work', 'do some activities', and 'tension free'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'salary holder' instead of 'wage earner' or 'employees', and 'awake in afternoon' instead of 'wake up in the afternoon'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions that are appropriate for an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it effects on production', 'worker do short time work'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'It is often argue that'). You rely mostly on simple or compound sentences, with limited attempts at complex structures. The punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
