Student answer (Band 5.0)
We can see a lot of people waking up in the morning then going for their respective jobs. They work their until evening and some to the midnight. In this way life feels boring and there should also be a time when man engaged in joyful activities to relax. Work like this can cause the serious health problems. I agree the worker needs a longer weekend, and the week should be shorter When workers woke up in the morning then they went to their respective jobs and engaged in the long 8 hours duty and in the midst only a short lunch break is provided. After long hours working, they feel tired then they rest. It can affect their performance and made them dull. There is a weekend to come but it is still not enough because of the overload of the work. Government should take action and increase the duration of weekend hence the worker can also enjoy in relaxing activities. Take an example of a teacher in Pakistan who had to teach students from the morning to 2 pm then he had to teach students in the academy until 8pm some teacher had to work until 11. It can effect their performance. Work like this can leads to the serious health problems include some mental diseases. A human body needs to relax if we want a peak performance from someone. A robot can achieve: " no limit to physical work". But humans are limited, they need rest after doing work in the weekend. Take an example of an office worker who had no holidays in the weekend, we can see such cases in the CMH hospital Lahore. In conclusion, workers need a time when they can relax then outstanding performance from them can be expected. Human body is limited so can develops health problems by doing continuous work. It cannot achieve robotics level. Workers should be provided with a long weekend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons, such as health concerns and the need for work-life balance, and supported them with examples like the teacher in Pakistan. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the argument could be strengthened by exploring the potential economic impact or the feasibility of such a policy for employers. The response is a bit simplistic in its reasoning, which limits the depth of the discussion. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-developed point rather than restating the same general idea about tiredness.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between them is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In conclusion' and 'Take an example of', the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are often mechanical or abrupt. For instance, the shift from discussing the teacher to the office worker lacks a smooth linking phrase. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the paragraphing could be more effective in separating the different arguments. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a clearer flow of ideas would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'boring', 'tired', and 'dull', which are repetitive. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'man engaged in joyful activities' (should be 'people engage') and 'leads to the serious health problems' (should be 'leads to serious health problems'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to employment and well-being, and pay closer attention to word forms and articles.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'worker needs', 'human body... can develops'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'when workers woke up... then they went' when discussing a general truth), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of quotation marks and spacing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help.
